Bromley vs Cambridge Prediction: Cambridge class make class count

Cambridge are yet to pick up a victory this season, but the U’s will hope a EFL Trophy tie at Bromley on Tuesday (19:45 KO, live on Sky Sports +) can kick-start their season.
Read on for my Bromley vs Cambridge predictions, plus the latest match odds and team news.
Bromley are 8/5 to win this in 90 minutes, while Cambridge are 7/5 and the draw is available at 11/5.
Team News
Ashley Charles is suspended for the home side but there could be first starts for Ben Thompson and Josh Thomas, who arrived on deadline day. Elias Kachunga is out with a hamstring injury and he is joined on the sidelines by Kelland Watts.
QPR loanee Taylor Richards is another Cambridge absentee, although Ryan Loft and midfielder Jordan Cousins could return to the squad after missing last weekend’s defeat at Bristol Rovers.
Cambridge to win @ 7/5
Cambridge have just a point to show from their opening four League One matches, and while the U’s would have certainly hoped for more, offers of 7/5 about Garry Monk’s men winning at Bromley may overplay Cambridge’s struggles.
The U’s put up a good display when only going down 2-1 to Championship side QPR at the Abbey Stadium, where Monk’s men were probably the better side.
Clearly, there have been defeats to Crawley and Bristol Rovers following the loss to Rangers, but Cambridge won the shot count in both of those matches and the results could have gone the U’s way on another day.
Bromley were clearly second-best when losing 2-1 at home to Crewe last night and prior to that reversal the Ravens were pumped 3-1 at Bradford.
Andy Woodman’s men make the step up to League One level against a Cambridge side, who are likely to give the EFL Trophy plenty of respect, and Bromley look likely to come up short at Hayes Lane.

Cambridge to win 2-1 @ 15/2
It could also pay to have a small punt on a 2-1 Cambridge victory in the Hayes Lane contest.
The U’s have seen 16 goals scored in their opening five matches of the season and Monk’s men were involved in a barnstorming 4-4 draw with Blackpool last month.
Cambridge have hit 51 shots in their last four matches in all competitions and, while Monk’s side have failed to record a victory, the U’s haven’t been shy in pushing forward.
Bromley have conceded five goals in their last two games, two of their three home matches have gone over the 2.5 goal mark and they may lose out in a high-scoring contest against Cambridge.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
