Brisbane Roar and Western United will both be looking to return to winning ways on Friday (KO, 08:45) when they meet in the Australian A-League Men's at Kayo Stadium.
The Roar are still smarting from last Saturday's bitterly disappointing defeat at Perth Glory when they were two goals to the good at half-time before succumbing to the pressure and losing 3-2.
Western United, meanwhile, beat Newcastle Jets a day prior, but then followed that up with a collapse of their own on Tuesday as they led Melbourne Victory until the 95th-minute before conceding twice in the space of four minutes to lose 2-1.
That defeat means the western Melbourne outfit are still bottom and seven points behind the 11th-placed Jets while the Roar are in eighth, four points behind the top-six.
Brisbane Roar vs Western United Betting Tips:
Team News
The home side are still without veteran defender Scott Neville, who has missed the last four games through injury, but Marcos Rojas could make his full debut on Friday.
The visitors are still without injured duo Riku Danzaki and Jacob Tratt while central defender James Donachie is suspended, but left-back Josh Risdon returns after sitting out Tuesday's game due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
Match Odds
Brisbane Roar are 9/10 to record back-to-back wins at home, with the draw at 13/5 and Western United priced at 23/10 for the victory.
Both teams to score is 4/9 and it's 5/4 for over 3.5 goals.
Highest-scoring half - second-half @ EVS
The second-half has been the highest-scoring half in five of Brisbane Roar's last seven matches, and this has been a fixture that has generally started slow before exploding into life after the break.
The sides have played each other seven times since the start of 2021, with the second-half being the highest-scoring half on six occasions. In fact, there have only been three first-half goals scored across those meetings.
Both teams will be desperate to win on Friday, which should set up a thrilling second period in Brisbane.
Brisbane Roar or draw and over 2.5 goals @ 21/20
The Roar have found the net with ease in their last two games, scoring five against Melbourne City before netting twice against Perth Glory last weekend. They've scored at least twice in a match on nine separate occasions in the A-League Men's this season, which is half the number of games they have played in the competition.
Western United, meanwhile, have conceded at least twice in 10 of their 17 league outings, which should give the home side confidence that they can strike at least twice on Friday.
Whether two goals will be enough to secure victory, however, remains to be seen. The Roar haven't kept a clean sheet in their last 11, with nine of those seeing at least two goals scored past them, including the reverse fixture with Western United on December 15, when they lost 2-1.
John Aloisi's side have also scored twice in half of their last 10 games, so a high-scoring draw shouldn't be ruled out.
