Anytime Scorer - Joao Pedro (BHA)

This selection, of course, very much depends on the fitness of the Brazilian forward. Joao Pedro has missed both of Brighton's matches following his return from international duty with the Selecao, but head coach Fabian Hurzeler said on Friday that he would "train today with the team and then we have to see how it goes. If he can train fully, do all the movements and, of course, we won’t take any risk.”

So, it sounds like there is a chance at the very least that he could be involved on Sunday, and if he is available for selection, Hurzeler might be tempted to start him given his side's inability to breach the Ipswich Town backline at the Amex last weekend. It was the first time the Seagulls had failed to score under their new boss, and the German won't want to make it back-to-back blanks at home on Sunday.

Of course, Hurzeler has an array of attacking talent at his disposal with Danny Welbeck, Evan Ferguson, Simon Adingra, Yankuba Minteh, Julio Enciso, Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter all jostling for spots across the forward line, but only three of those - Welbeck, Adingra and Mitoma - have scored so far this season, and their last two Premier League strikes have come from Joao Pedro - the winner in the 2-1 victory over Manchester United at the Amex on August 24, and the equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Arsenal a week later.

Joao Pedro is still yet to cash in a penalty, too, with last season proving how deadly he is when presented with an opportunity from 12 yards - nine of his 20 goals in 2023/24 were spot-kicks, with only Aston Villa's Robin Olsen managing to keep him out, and even then the Brazil international tucked in the rebound.

Both Teams to Score - No

I'm backing Brighton to end Forest's unbeaten run here and get themselves back into winning ways in the Premier League after successive stalemates.

Forest have been nothing but consistent so far, scoring exactly once in every league game so far, but something's got to give soon. I'm not trying to downplay their achievements here, and they've recruited several players - such as Morgan Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi - who can produce something special out of nowhere, but I'm not sure they can rely on individual brilliance to carry them through in every game. Gibbs-White and Hudson-Odoi aren't exactly Kevin De Bruyne or Mohamed Salah, players who have proven themselves over a while, and so I think Forest will have their first bump in the road this weekend against a side looking to regain that winning feeling.

Ipswich frustrated the Seagulls last Saturday but in drawing 0-0 Hurzeler's charges did record a second Premier League shutout in four games, perhaps an early pointer that they are looking to be more solid than in the Roberto De Zerbi era, albeit we are still in the very early stages of the campaign and there is much work still to do.

Brighton are likely to have most of the ball on Sunday, something Forest won't be displeased with, but I think the Seagulls will do what Liverpool couldn't last week - find a way through the Forest defence - and that will force the visitors to take more risks, and the south coast side should be able to play around them, and avoid losing a goal on the counter-attack like the Reds.

As I've already backed Joao Pedro to score and BTTS not to land, there's no need to add in Brighton to win here.

Player to Receive a Card - Ryan Yates (NFO)

Liverpool players were probably breathing a big sigh of relief at the sound of the final whistle last Saturday. Not because of the result, but because they won't have to put up with Ryan Yates for another few months at least.

The Forest midfielder was a constant menace in midfield at Anfield, barging opposition players over and essentially, making a nuisance of himself. He was fouled three times but, remarkably, only gave away one free-kick himself, although he was booked for timewasting just before half-time.

That was actually one of his more uneventful games this season, given he has averaged 1.5 fouls per game in the Premier League this term, the number he averaged over 35 appearances in the competition in 2023/24.

Yates was cautioned six times last season and five in the campaign before. Up against Brighton's skilful midfield and attack, he may find himself back in the referee's notebook on the south coast.

Teams Most Corners - Brighton

The fourth and final leg of this bet builder sees me go to the corner market and back Brighton to win the most. The Seagulls have won the corner count in three of their four Premier League contests so far, drawing with Man United in the other, while Forest have taken the least corners in two of their matches - versus Bournemouth and Liverpool.

This selection has landed in three of the four meetings between the sides since Forest's promotion from the Championship in 2022, including in both games at the Amex.
