We’ve picked out some of the top markets available to punters in this contest between a European newcomer and a seasoned heavyweight.
Brighton vs Ajax Betting Tips
Match Odds
Brighton are the overwhelming favourites to win this one at 1/4. A draw can be backed at 9/2, while Ajax are valued at 7/1 to come away with the three points.
Both these sides have scored in their previous two fixtures in Group B and BTTS can be backed at 8/13.
Over 3.5 goals is valued at 5/6 with Brighton having played out a 2-2 draw with Marseille last time out in the competition. Before that, the Seagulls were beaten 3-2 by AEK Athens, so you can find over 4.5 goals priced at 2/1.
Team News
Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has quite a few injuries to contend with ahead of Thursday, with Solly March, Danny Welbeck, Pervis Estupinan, Tariq Lamptey and Julio Enciso sidelined. Jakub Moder has returned to training but Thursday looks to be too soon for him to come back into the squad.
Geronimo Rulli, Sivert Mannsverk and Ahmetcan Kaplan are all doubts for Ajax.
Kaoru Mitoma to score anytime @ 13/10
Without a win in their last five across all competitions, Brighton are in desperate need of a win against Ajax. Luckily for them, the Dutch side are in a lot more trouble. Ajax are 17th in the Eredivisie with five points from their first seven matches. Manager Maurice Steijn was sacked over the weekend and so right now Ajax are in turmoil.
This will give the Seagulls a boost ahead of Thursday as they look to claim their first victory in Europe. One player who will give them a strong chance of doing this is Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma. He is such a key player to Brighton and De Zerbi and he is yet to get off the mark in the Europa League.
However, he has scored three goals already this season in the Premier League and he will be eager to translate that form onto the European stage.
Brighton and both teams to score @ 13/10
With Ajax in crisis and home advantage, Brighton can build on their draw with Marseille by taking three points off an institution of European football. The Seagulls will sense the opportunity that lies ahead of them and a victory here will do wonders for their confidence both in Europe and domestically.
And although Ajax are going through the motions right now, they certainly have enough talent within their ranks to make this a very competitive game. But it is one that we are expecting Brighton to come through as the victors, which could really benefit their quest for qualification to the knockout stage.
