Brentford take on Manchester United on Sunday afternoon (14:00) after both teams enjoyed wins on Thursday night.

The Bees put a dent in Nottingham Forest's Champions League qualification hopes with a 2-0 victory at the City Ground, while United enjoyed a 3-0 triumph away at Athletic Club in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final. Team News

Thomas Frank may opt for the same starting XI for the third consecutive game here, after his Brentford side remained unchanged in the victories over Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest.

Kevin Schade will hope to be deployed in the front three once again alongside Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo, while Mark Flekken is expected to start between the sticks.

However, Vitaly Janelt will miss the rest of the campaign for the Bees after undergoing surgery to solve a persistent heel issue. Brentford will also without Josh Dasilva and Fabio Carvalho due to knee and shoulder injuries respectively.

Brentford vs Manchester United Stats

  • Brentford are looking to make it three wins on the spin
  • United's last win in the Premier League came against Leicester City on March 16

As for the visitors, Ruben Amorim is expected to make changes after Thursday night's Europa League clash.

Luke Shaw is in line for back-to-back Premier League starts after getting 20 more minutes in the legs on Thursday, while Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt both made their returns to action off the bench in Bilbao.

Victor Lindelof could keep his place in the starting XI with next week's semi-final second leg in mind, while Harry Amass could be recalled to give Noussair Mazraoui a much-needed rest.

The likes Mason Mount and Christian Eriksen may start in midfield to give Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro some time to recover, while Chido Obi-Martin is in contention to be given the nod up top if Amorim opts to rest Rasmus Hojlund.

Joshua Zirkzee and Lisandro Martinez both remain long-term absentees while Diogo Dalot remains sidelined with a calf problem.

Brentford vs Manchester United Odds

Brentford are 4/6 for Sunday's contest, giving them an implied win probability of 60%, with the draw currently priced at 10/3, and a United win is available to back at 4/1.

Yoane Wissa is favourite to score anytime at 13/10, while Bruno Fernandes is shortest-priced for the visitors at 11/4.

Draw @ 10/3

United's eggs will firmly be in the Europa League basket, especially after the 3-0 win in their semi-final first leg, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the majority of the first team rested on Sunday, and a few young players are given a run out.

The Red Devils are winless in their last five Premier League outings against teams above them in the table, which doesn't make for great reading heading into the weekend.

The Bees have won their last two league contests, and their last home victory against Brighton ended a nine-game winless run at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Neither side has a great deal to play for domestically, so I can see this one ending in a stalemate.

Bryan Mbeumo to score anytime @ 11/8

The Brentford forward has enjoyed an excellent campaign, racking up 24 goal involvements in the Premier League, scoring 18 and providing six assists - no player has provided more in a single season in the competition for the Bees.

Mbeumo is currently competing with Wissa to finish the season as the club's top scorer - they're both tied on 18 goals heading into Sunday's contest - so I think the 25-year-old looks a decent pick to score anytime this weekend.
