AFC Bournemouth take on Luton Town at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night (KO, 19:30), nearly three months after the original Premier League fixture was abandoned in the 65th minute. The score was 1-1, Dominic Solanke cancelling out Elijah Adebayo's early strike for the visitors, before Hatters captain Tom Lockyer collapsed on the pitch.

It was subsequently revealed that Lockyer had suffered a cardiac arrest, and although there is no news on whether he will eventually return to action or not, the Welshman has since become a father. Below we have detailed the latest team news and match odds ahead of this rearranged game, and offered our Bournemouth vs Luton prediction.

  • Bournemouth to win and both teams to score @ 13/8
  • Carlton Morris to score anytime @ 21/10

Team News

Solanke was a doubt heading into Saturday's 2-2 draw with Sheffield United but he did complete the full game. However, with only three days rest and him missing a penalty, coupled with Enes Unal scoring his first Bournemouth goal as a substitute against the Blades, the Englishman could swap roles with the on-loan Getafe forward on Wednesday.

Dango Ouattara will also be looking for a rare Premier League start after providing a goal and assist off the bench on the weekend. The Burkina Faso international could slot in at left-back ahead of Milos Kerkez, or on the wing instead of Marcus Tavernier.

Defenders Marcos Senesi, Lloyd Kelly and Max Aarons will miss out through injury again.

Luton's lengthy injury list includes Marvelous Nakamba, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Amari'i Bell, Mats Andersen and Jacob Brown, who all missed Saturday's 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace, and the quintet are likely to be joined on the sidelines by Teden Mengi, who was forced off with an issue at Selhurst Park.

Japanese defender Daiki Hashioka replaced Mengi midway through the second half and could make his full Luton debut on Wednesday, but the game probably arrives too soon for top scorer Adebayo, who has missed the Hatters' last five matches with a thigh injury.

Match Odds

The hosts are heavy favourites at 1/2 to win on Wednesday, while the visitors can be backed at 5/1 to claim victory on the south coast. The draw is backable at 18/5, both teams to score is 4/7 and it's 4/9 for over 2.5 goals.

Bournemouth to win and both teams to score @ 13/8

Saturday's result was a hugely disappointing one for Bournemouth, whose head coach Andoni Iraola would have been particularly irked by going two goals down at home to the league's bottom club.

The Cherries did show some fighting spirit in the second half though, and they will be desperate to avoid making the same mistakes on Wednesday.

Speaking of fighting spirit, Luton showed that in abundance in south London as Cauley Woodrow struck a 96th-minute equaliser to snatch a point for Rob Edwards' side. The Hatters have found the net in their last 11 games in all competitions and will fancy their chances of scoring again at the Vitality Stadium.

However, they've failed to win any of their last seven, losing five of them, and with a number of key players still sidelined, the hosts might have just enough to shade the game in midweek.

Carlton Morris to score anytime @ 21/10

Adebayo's injury has hit the Hatters hard in recent weeks, but his strike partner has certainly stepped up in his absence.

Morris has scored twice in five games without Adebayo and has four goals in his last six Premier League appearances, taking his season tally in the competition to eight.

The 28-year-old has already struck vital goals away at Burnley and Newcastle United in 2024, and as the club's designated penalty taker, looks good value to score again on his travels.
