Borussia Monchengladbach play host to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Friday night (19:30), and the Foals will be looking to get back to winning ways on home soil after losing away to Union Berlin last time out.

They are two points ahead of the visitors heading into this one and we've picked out a couple of the best markets available to our punters.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs Werder Bremen Betting Tips

  • Borussia Monchengladbach and both teams to score - 2/1
  • Alassane Plea to score anytime - 13/10

Match Odds

Gladbach are perceived as the favourites to win this contest at 10/11. You can back a draw at 3/1, while Werder Bremen are 5/2 to pick up a rare away victory.

Both teams to score is valued at 4/9. Over 2.5 goals is found at the same price.

Team News

The hosts are going to be without the injured Jonas Omlin and Hannes Wolf, who are both out until the New Year. Tomas Cvancara and Robin Hack are both doubts after coming down with illness in the past week. Tony Jantschke and Ko Itakura are also set to miss out Friday's fixture, while Manu Kone is another fitness concern.

Nicolai Rapp, Amos Pieper and Leon Opitz are long-term absentees for Werder Bremen. The visitors are also going to miss Marco Friedl and Michael Zetterer for the trip to Borussia Park.

Borussia Monchengladbach and both teams to score @ 2/1

Both these teams haven't had the greatest of starts to the Bundesliga this season as they sit in mid-table. They have both won just four games each from their first 14 matches, while Gladbach have picked up two more draws than their opponents.

A few weeks ago, the Foals posted a commanding 4-0 victory here against Wolfsburg - interestingly the team wedged in between the two sides in the table. Gerardo Seoane's side will be fancying their chances against Werder Bremen on Friday as they know that if they are to push higher up the table, Borussia Park has to become a fortress.

There is enough quality, despite the injury concerns, for Gladbach to go out and get the three points against Werder Bremen, but the absence of key personnel makes us think that we will see goals fly in at both ends here.

Borussia Monchengladbach and both teams to score at 2/1

Alassane Plea to score anytime @ 13/10

While Gladbach have been forced into another transitional period with manager Seoane taking over from Daniel Farke in the summer, the former has been massively aided by attacker Alassane Plea in his first few months in charge.

The Frenchman has seven Bundesliga goals to his name this season and is averaging a goal every two games, the form of an elite attacking player. He has scored five in his last seven appearances, including in the 3-1 defeat to Union Berlin last time out.

Plea has developed a strong eye for goal this term and Werder Bremen will be listing him as Gladbach's biggest threat on Friday night. But we don't think that will be enough to stop him from continuing his excellent run of form.
