Borussia Dortmund vs Heidenheim Prediction: These two can put on a show

Borussia Dortmund welcome league leaders Heidenheim in the Bundesliga on Friday (19:30, Sky Sports Mix), hoping to build on their unbeaten start to the campaign. They drew 0-0 with Werder Bremen last time out with 10 men, but they will look to pick up another win on home soil.
The visitors have won two from two, scoring six goals in the process, and both sides are yet to concede a goal. My Borussia Dortmund vs Heidenheim prediction thinks that will change, and you can find that below, along with match odds and team news.

Dortmund are 1/3 to win this match, giving them an implied probability of 75%. Heidenheim are 15/2, or a 11.8%, to pick up the three points. The draw is marketed at 9/2 (18.2%).
Both teams to score can be backed at 8/11 and over 2.5 goals is available at 1/2. Heidenheim midfielder Paul Wanner, on loan from Bayern Munich, has had an excellent start to the season. The 18-year-old has scored two goals and provided one assist in the first two matches of the season. He is 5/1 to score anytime on Friday.
Dortmund's English winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens also has two goals to his name, and he is priced at 9/4 to score at any stage during this match.
Team News
After a few complications over the summer that required extensive medical checks, Dortmund boss Nuri Sahin has revealed that striker Serhou Guirassy has been cleared to make his debut on Friday, and he expects the former VfB Stuttgart man to feature in some capacity.
Max Beier is likely to start up front given his start to the season, but Guirassy will likely have a big role to play from the bench against the league leaders. Karim Adeyemi and Donyell Malen will be hoping for promotion to the starting lineup after being named on the bench against Werder Bremen last time out.
Gio Reyna is out injured after suffering an injury on international duty with the United States. Ramy Bensebaini should come into defence in place of the suspended Nico Schlotterbeck, while Yan Couto could also return to the fold after being absent for the last match.
Heidenheim are going to be without Julian Niehues, Lennard Maloney and Thomas Leon Keller due to injury.
Over 3.5 goals @ 5/4
Both these teams have had strong starts to the season, so we could be in for a blockbuster on Friday night. I think we could be treated to a goal-fest as there are going to be two strong attacking teams on display.
The visitors have won four of their last six Bundesliga matches, and two of them have seen them get off to a flyer in 2024/25, and no side has scored more than their six after the opening two rounds. It is worth noting that two of their last three Bundesliga fixtures have seen at least four goals scored, so I believe the trend can continue and that over 3.5 goals is worth backing.
Both teams are yet to concede a goal but they equally provide one another their biggest test in the league so far, and each will be facing a lot of attacking talent. The onus will be on Dortmund as the home side, but Heidenheim can present them with plenty of problems as they bid to keep hold of top spot.
I think a result is hard to call here because both teams have started so well, but if anything that indicates to me that we should witness a fair few goals fly in at Signal Iduna Park.
Both teams to score @ 8/11
In the same way of thinking as the first selection, I believe both teams to score is worth backing here. Yes, both teams are yet to see their defensive line breached, but as I have said already, they are each facing their toughest opponent to date.
The two sides have no problems scoring goals and this will be an interesting test for both of these European chasers, or title challengers in Dortmund's case. Interestingly the hosts conceded an average of two goals per game against sides that finished in the top four last season, which should bode well for this meeting with the current league leaders.
I expect plenty of goals in this clash, and I think we will see them go in at both ends.
