Champions league ball scaled

Barcelona ran out easy 4-0 winners in the first leg of their Uefa Champions League quarter-final tie with Borussia Dortmund last Wednesday, leaving the Bundesliga club with a mountain to climb in Tuesday's return fixture at Signal Iduna Park (20:00, TNT Sports 1).

Below are my Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona Bet Builder tips as I combine four legs, which pay out at a combined 10/1.

Result - Barcelona

Barcelona are unbeaten in 24 games across all competitions since December 21 (W20, D4), and Hansi Flick's side have won nine of their last 10 (W9, D1) European matches.

Dortmund, meanwhile, have lost nine of their 21 contests this calendar year, and have suffered two defeats already to Barcelona this season.

Die Borussen lost 3-2 at home in the league phase in December and were hit for four in Spain last week, and all signs point towards a third head-to-head defeat of the campaign.

Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona Odds

One thing that may be in the home side's favour is that Barcelona could make changes to their starting XI, with a four-goal advantage already looking insurmountable.

The La Liga giants are back in domestic action on Saturday afternoon, and Flick may well have one eye on that game against Celta Vigo, although I do expect the German boss to only rest a few from the start and instead take players off at half-time or at the hour mark.

Dortmund themselves are probably thinking of the league, too, with Saturday's 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich leaving them six points adrift of the Bundesliga top four with only five rounds of fixtures remaining.

Barcelona have been in incredible form in 2025, winning their last eight away games, and I don't see this run coming to an end on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona Stats

  • Barcelona have won their last eight away games in all competitions
  • Dortmund have lost two previous H2Hs this season

Player Goals - Ferran Torres (BAR) Anytime Goalscorer

Barcelona forward Ferran Torres is one player who could benefit from his side's four-goal lead in this tie.

The Spaniard has started Barca's last two games on the bench but could begin Tuesday's match if Flick opts to rest 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski or 17-year-old Lamine Yamal.

Torres has played second fiddle to Lewandowski for most of the season but has still scored 16 goals in 38 appearances, netting twice in the Champions League.

The 25-year-old has been in good form over the past month, netting five times across his last eight Barcelona outings, and he will be desperate to get on the pitch against a Dortmund side that have shipped six goals in a week.

Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona Stats

  • Ferran Torres (BAR) has scored five goals in last eight club apps
  • Serhou Guirassy (DOR) is averaging 1.8 shots on target per 90 in 24/25 CL

Player Stats - Serhou Guirassy (DOR) 1+ Shots on Target

Only Barcelona duo Raphinha (12) and Lewandowski (11) have scored more Champions League goals this season than Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy (10), who bagged a brace when the sides met at Signal Iduna Park in November.

The Guinea international was unable to get on the scoresheet in last Wednesday's first leg, but he did shoot three times, forcing a save from Wojciech Szczesny with the first of them.

Guirassy is averaging 1.8 shots on target per 90 minutes in the 2024/25 Champions League and has only failed to hit the target in one of his 13 competition appearances this season.

Team Booking Points - Each Team Under 19.5

To round off this Bet Builder, I'm backing both teams to receive under 19.5 booking points on Tuesday.

There were only 20 booking points awarded in the first leg, with the game's two yellows both shown to Dortmund players.

It was the third time in Barcelona's last four Champions League matches that not a single card had been flashed in their direction, and given the comfortable position they are in heading into Tuesday's game, I see no reason for Flick's side to lose their cool in Germany.

Dortmund, meanwhile, will be aware that the tie has probably passed them by, so I'm not expecting a full-blooded match here by any means.
