Borussia Dortmund host Stuttgart in a crunch clash on Saturday afternoon, with the game live on Sky Sports at 17:30. Dortmund are on top of the world having handed Bayern Munich a devastating 2-0 defeat last time out and are hunting down Stuttgart who sit one place, and four points above them.

Now they meet at Signal Iduna Park with both teams likely to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Below you can find my Borussia Dortmund vs Stuttgart prediction, featuring a couple of betting tips and the latest team news.

Borussia Dortmund vs Stuttgart Tips

  • Dortmund to win and BTTS @ 9/4
  • Karim Adeyemi and Sehrou Guirassy to score @ 9/2

Team News

Samuel Bamba and Ramy Bensebaini are out for Borussia Dortmund, while Donyell Malen is a slight doubt with a thigh issue. Niclas Füllkrug is expected to lead the line again, supported by Jadon Sancho and Karim Adeyemi.

For the away side, they will be without captain Waldemar Anton as he is suspended, while Nikolas Nartey, Anthony Rouault and Dan-Axel Zagadou are all out. Goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow missed their last match through illness but should be able to return here.

Match Odds

Borussia Dortmund are the slight favourites here at 5/4, giving them an implied win probability of 44%. Stuttgart are priced at 9/5, a draw can be backed at 3/1 and over 2.5 goals is 2/5

Dortmund to win and BTTS @ 9/4

Dortmund have seriously impressed me of late. They’ve now won five games in a row in all competitions, and have been scoring goals at will. The win against Bayern Munich away from home gave them a real boost in terms of their top four hopes, and they also have a Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid to look forward to.

Simply put, despite the league standings, I think they are slightly better than Stuttgart at this moment in time. The away side drew 3-3 with Heidenheim last time out, and are clearly capable of scoring plenty of goals - hence the BTTS selection. The quality of attackers on show is immense (more on that shortly), so I’m happy to put forward a home win with BTTS as my first selection.

Karim Adeyemi and Serhou Guirassy to score @ 9/2

Stuttgart boast one of the most potent duos in the Bundesliga, and the most potent in their history. Serhou Guirassy has scored 23 league goals this season, with only Harry Kane able to beat that total, and his partner in crime Deniz Undav has hit the net 15 times. That makes them the most successful single-season strike partnership in Stuttgart's history and Guirassy is more than capable of finding the net here.

Meanwhile for Dortmund, the front three of Adeyemi, Füllkrug and Sancho have been performing well, with the young star finding the net three times in five games since his return from injury. He’s only started three of those league matches, so I’m more than happy to back him to find the net again in what should be an open encounter.

This should be an absolutely cracker on Saturday night, and a game that could be stacked full of goals.
