Bologna vs Napoli Prediction: In-form hosts could dent Partenopei’s title hopes

Napoli have the chance to move within a point of Serie A leaders Inter Milan on Monday night. Antonio Conte’s men are making the most of their reduced fixture schedule, while Inter are showing signs of fatigue as they juggle three competitions.
However, Napoli head to a Bologna side who are in fantastic form. The Rossoblu could make a remarkable return to the top four despite last summer’s squad turnover, while they have one foot in the Coppa Italia final after Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Empoli, their sixth win on the bounce. Will that good form dent the Partenopei’s title chances? Below you can find my Bologna vs Napoli predictions.
Team news
Bologna are in fantastic form so few changes are expected, although the Rossoblu are hopeful that Santiago Castro could return after a few weeks on the sidelines.
Full-back Davide Calabria has been ruled out for the hosts after featuring in their midweek cup win, with Emil Holm expected to step in.
Napoli are without Leonardo Spinazzola and Nikita Contini, although the Partenopei expect Scott McTominay to be ready to return to the starting lineup after recovering from an illness.
Napoli are slight favourites for this clash at 13/8, but there’s little between them and 15/8 Bologna. The draw is 21/10, while over 2.5 goals is a 6/4 chance.
Bologna have rattled off seven consecutive wins at home, the latest of which was a 5-0 hammering of Lazio in the middle of last month. The Rossoblu haven’t failed to score at home since a 1-0 loss to Monaco in the Champions League in November.
Both teams to score @ 1/1
Vincenzo Italiano’s men have pushed up to fourth thanks to their good form, putting them ahead of Juventus, who poached manager Thiago Motta from the Renato Dall’Ara before dismissing him last month.
However, hosting Conte’s Napoli is a huge test for Bologna. The Partenopei have seen both teams score in nine of their previous 10 matches, while they’ve netted in 12 of their last 13 away trips.
Bologna have struggled to contain the top-five sides in Serie A this season, conceding eight goals in four meetings with Inter, Napoli, Atalanta and Juve.
Napoli have a solid record at the top sides, but they’ve drawn four of six visits to the top eight. With that in mind, back plenty of goals here, while a 2-2 draw stands out at 16/1.

Riccardo Orsolini to score anytime @ 11/4
Orsolini has been in fantastic form for Bologna of late, netting in each of his last three appearances. The forward has scored five times across his last five appearances for the Rossoblu, while he’s been particularly effective at home.
Orsolini has scored seven of his 11 Serie A goals this season at home. He’s netted those strikes in just 647 minutes at the Dall’Ara, averaging out to a goal every 92 minutes. With Napoli conceding seven times across their last five away games, Orsolini can continue his impressive scoring streak.
