Birmingham vs Huddersfield Prediction: Blues to punish sorry Terriers

There's a full slate of EFL League 1 taking place on Tuesday evening, with the stand out tie probably top-of-the-table Birmingham City vs Huddersfield Town at St Andrew's.
We've asked our reluctant Terrier to preview this one and give us his Birmingham vs Huddersfield Predictions, as well as all the latest odds, stats and team news.
Birmingham vs Huddersfield Betting Tips
Tuesday night sees a battle between two of the newly-relegated sides in the division but it looks almost diametrically opposed for these two old famous clubs at the moment, with the high-flying Blues sitting proudly at the top of the third tier, after six straight wins in the league, whilst Huddersfield continue their fall.
It looked like there may be some egg on the face of those who were already claiming that Birmingham had the league already wrapped up, as they fell 2-0 down at home to Peterborough inside 16 minutes on Saturday afternoon. However, their strength and quality in depth shone through in the end, scoring a trio of unanswered goals to pick up yet another three points.
Meanwhile for Town, a match on the road against crisis-hit Reading looked the perfect opportunity to put an end to an alarming run of bad form and it appeared they were about to do just that as Matty Pearson fired them into an early lead. However, that soft underbelly showed once again and the Royals sent them packing back up north with their tails between their legs, for their sixth loss in the last seven in all competitions.
New boss Michael Duff must have taken one look at this midweek fixture and winced, in fear of what lies in wait in the West Midlands. For Chris Davies, it represents a superb chance to extend their lead at the top of League 1 and pick up a seventh straight league win.
Team news
Despite their superb form, Davies could still be tempted to make a couple of changes here, with one-time Terriers summer transfer target Alfie May expected to come in for Lyndon Dykes, whilst there may also be a switch at the back, with keeper Ryan Allsop perhaps replacing the struggling Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
Meanwhile, Duff continues his shuffling of the pack in a desperate attempt to find his chosen line-up and formation. He made seven changes on Saturday and I wouldn't be surprised to see similar again here. Town are still missing a number of starting players, including centre-backs Radinio Balker and Michal Helik.

Birmingham are surprisingly long at 8/11 to pick up their seventh straight win, giving City an implied win probability of 57.9%, while Huddersfield are 7/2 favourites, or a 22% chance, to pick up the three points.
The draw is also available at 3/1.
It's no surprise to see Blues strikers at the head of the anytime goalscorer market, with Alfie May (5/4) and Jay Stansfield (13/10) favourites to get on the score sheet.
Birmingham to win and over 2.5 goals @ 6/4
I was tempted to just take the Brum win at 8/11 as they look as close to a good thing as it's likely to get right now. However, I've tried to eek out a touch more value and have doubled the match result with over 2.5 goals, which also looks likely to happen.
Blues have gone above this line and won in their last three home league games and Town have seen three goals or more in six of their last seven and look desperate at the back.
Big-spending Birmingham should be walking this league and they look in danger of doing just that currently and a sorry-looking Terriers side don't appear to be in any position to put up a speed-bump any time soon.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Jay Stansfield to score two or more goals @ 7/1
One of City's big summer transfers was of course Jay Stansfield, who shouldn't really be plying his trade in the third division of English football. Estimates on his total transfer fee range between £10-20m, which is a huge amount of money at this level but if he gets them back up at the first time of asking, it will be money well spent.
After re-joining the club, the 21-year-old has taken no time to find his shooting boots, notching three goals in as many games, including a brace against fellow promotion hopefuls Wrexham. Stansfield is averaging 3.7 shots per game in the league and with the chuckle-brothers style defence being employed by Town at present, I can see him turning those shot attempts into goals.
The 13/10 appealed for him to score but I liked the 7/1 on offer for him to score a brace. I hope I'm wrong, but fear this could be a very long Tuesday night for those hardy Terriers fans making the trip.
