The Premier League action continues to come thick and fast as the season enters the business end, with three top-flight fixtures scheduled for Wednesday.

Our focus falls on the encounter at the Emirates Stadium between title-chasing Arsenal and relegation-threatened Luton Town (19:30). The Gunners sit second in the table, two points behind league leaders Liverpool, while Luton are in the bottom three after a poor run of results.

Arsenal surrendered ground to Liverpool in the title race on Sunday, but Mikel Arteta will not have been too disappointed to leave the Etihad Stadium with a share of the spoils.

Many teams go to the home of Manchester City with preconceived thoughts that they are going to struggle, but the Gunners kept them quiet for large parts of the encounter in what ended up being a 0-0 draw.

The competitiveness of the title race means any slip-up could prove fatal, and Arsenal will have that in mind when they welcome Rob Edwards' side to the capital.

Luton nearly shocked the Gunners in December’s meeting at Kenilworth Road having moved into a 3-2 lead, but Arteta’s troops scored twice to snatch a 4-3 victory.

The Hatters have a decent chance of ruining a lot of pre-season wagers by avoiding the drop, but they cannot seem to pick up a win at the moment despite turning in some positive performances.

Edwards' men are without a win in 10 games in all competitions, while their last Premier League victory came in January when thrashing Brighton 4-0.

Luton have been praised for their attacking play and committed attitude, but the reality is they cannot defend and have conceded 62 goals - only the two teams below them have let in more.

A lengthy injury list hasn’t helped matters and Edwards has up to 13 players on the treatment table, while he has not been able to name his first-choice defence for several months.

The likes of Tom Lockyer, Amari'i Bell, Mads Andersen and Gabriel Osho are all unavailable, while Reece Burke and Alfie Doughty could both miss Wednesday's match if they don't pass late fitness tests.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta only has Jurrien Timber to worry about when it comes to injury, and he may even tweak his starting XI to keep his team fresh.

The Spaniard has watched his side score 14 goals in their last four Premier League matches at home, which bodes well ahead of Wednesday's battle.

Luton have conceded 36 goals on their travels away from home in the league - the most in the division - with 15 of those coming in their last five road outings.

The injuries are taking their toll on Luton’s squad, and Arsenal should have a field day in midweek.
