Football Bet of the Day: Expect honours to be even at Oxford

Our focus for Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day takes us to the second tier of English football and the Kassam Stadium, as Oxford United host Hull City in the Championship (19:45, Sky Sports+).
Two teams who would have had contrasting goals at the start of the season, with Hull eyeing promotion and Oxford looking to avoid the drop, these sides have had one similar theme in their recent results.
Take a look below to see what trait binds these teams and what price is available for that trend to continue. Below you can find my Football Bet of the Day.
Football Bet of the Day - Tuesday, November 5
- Oxford United vs Hull City - Draw @ 23/10
Draws, draws and more draws, that has been the theme for both Oxford and Hull over recent weeks and there would be few eyebrows raised if another stalemate was to be played out at the Kassam Stadium.
Starting with the U’s, manager Des Buckingham has seen his side draw three of their last four home games in the Championship, while they have drawn five of their last seven league games overall.
These draws on their own patch should certainly not be sniffed at, as promotion hopefuls Burnley and West Brom both left the home of the Yellows with just a point to show for their efforts.
Being solid at home will be key for Oxford if they are to avoid a swift return to League One and on that front Buckingham can be pleased.
The U’s were unbeaten in seven games at home before they were edged out 2-1 by Swansea City in their last home game at the weekend.
Tuesday’s visitors Hull will be fully aware that nothing can be taken for granted when they travel to the Kassam Stadium and the Tigers head there on a run of five Championship games without a win.
Oxford United vs Hull City Odds
It’s been a hectic schedule in the Championship for all teams and it’s been a difficult spell for manager Tim Walter and his side.
After losing to both Norwich City and Sunderland, Hull have gone on to draw all of their last three games in the league.
Finishing the games against Burnley, Derby and Portsmouth 1-1, it’s proven to be a popular scoreline for Hull, as it has Oxford.
The U’s had three consecutive 1-1 draws against Portsmouth, West Brom and Derby before losing their last two games to Sunderland and Swansea.
A more ambitious selection would be to opt for another 1-1 in the correct score market, which is available at 11/2.
However, going with a more conservative approach for Tuesday’s encounter, given the recent trend of results for these two teams, a straight draw gets the nod at 23/10 for this latest Football Bet of the Day.
