Football Bet of the Day – Tuesday 24th October

  • Arsenal to be the highest scoring Champions League team on Tuesday @ 12/1

Sevilla host Arsenal in a crucial Champions League tie in Group B. The Spanish side have drawn both of their European fixtures so far this season, while Arsenal have won one and lost one. The Gunners will want to win this away fixture in Spain to put themselves in pole position to win the group, and Mikel Arteta will certainly send his side out to win this game.

So the ‘highest scoring Champions League team on Tuesday’ Hotshots market really catches the eye on Betfred. Bayern Munich are currently 9/2 favourites as they take on Galatasaray away from home, but the Germans have an injury crisis that has left them with around 14 fit outfield players.

Inter Milan are the same price as they host RB Salzburg, but they only scored one in their UCL opener at San Siro vs Benfica. At that price they aren’t worth backing, but I believe Arsenal offer truly spectacular value here.

They are one of the finest attacking outfits in Europe and showed that in their recent outing against Chelsea. Even when second best, they managed to come back late on to secure a 2-2 draw when it looked like all hope was lost. With the substitutions Mikel Arteta made, he was able to drag his team back into contention.

With this Champions League tie Arsenal will have to come out on the front foot, while it is also worth considering that Gabriel Martinelli will be sharper on this occasion after only just returning from injury. Leandro Trossard is also pushing for a start after his goal at the weekend, while Eddie Nketiah also impressed off the bench.

This Arsenal side is far superior to Sevilla and should be able to beat them relatively comfortably. If this game pans out how I expect it to, I believe Arsenal can score three goals, and that is more than I think any other side will get. If you fancy this game to be a thriller, it is 8/1 to be the game that features the most goals on Tuesday night, another market worth considering.

Ultimately, the Gunners are now one of the finest teams in Europe. They’ve got all the qualities to be successful in the Champions League and should be able to win this match with a degree of certainty. 12/1 on them to be the top scoring side feels a little overpriced.
