Football Bet of the Day: Stockport to win entertaining encounter

Tuesday's Football Bet of the Day comes from Northern Group A in the EFL Trophy, as Stockport County host Tranmere Rovers at Edgeley Park (19:00, live on Sky Sports+).
Football Bet of the Day - Tuesday, November 12
- Stockport County to win and over 2.5 goals @ 2/1
The final group games in the Northern and Southern sections take place on Tuesday and those that head to Edgeley Park could be in for a cracker when Stockport host Tranmere.
Stockport sit top of Northern Group A on six points after racking up convincing 4-1 victories over Accrington Stanley and Everton's U21 side, the latter result coming on home soil.
County are already guaranteed a place in the next stage of the competition, but the same cannot be said of Tranmere, who are above third-placed Everton U21s only on goal difference.
Rovers know they must match the Merseysiders' result to ensure they are in the draw for the next round, but they may have to rely on the young Toffees slipping up against alread- eliminated Accrington to secure their progression.
Tranmere have won just twice on the road in all competitions this season and those victories have come against Carlisle United and Bromley, who are both beneath them in the League Two standings.
Nigel Adkins' troops have lost four times away from home this term and they have not won on their last two trips to Edgeley Park, going down 3-2 and 2-0.
Tranmere are down in 17th position in League Two and they will struggle to overcome a Stockport side that currently sit in the League One play-off positions and are eyeing a place in England's second tier.
County thrashed Bolton Wanderers 5-0 at home on Saturday, making it three wins from their last four Edgeley Park assignments after securing a 4-1 win over Reading and a 2-1 extra-time success over Forest Green Rovers.
With the home side expected to pick up the win, the 5/6 may already be enough but for a little extra juice, the 15/8 on there to be over 2.5 total goals along with a Stockport victory is well worth considering.
Dave Challinor's side have seen plenty of goals this season, with five strikes seen in each of their last three home matches in League Two.
Just five teams have a higher tally for combined goals scored and conceded in League Two this season than Stockport (42) and the hosts will feel confident of sticking a few past a Rovers defence that has gone nine games without a clean sheet.
Over 2.5 goals has landed in six of Tranmere's last seven away fixtures, a run of games that has seen them lose four times, draw twice and win just once, while two of the last three meetings between this pair have produced four goals or more.
Expect another high-scoring contest that County can edge to make it a perfect three wins from three in Northern Group A.
