Europa league trophy scaled

We’ve got a load of football action coming our way on Thursday night from the Europa League and the Europa Conference League, and it is Europe’s secondary club competition from which our Football Bet of the Day comes from. Lazio have been nothing short of superb so far in this competition, and we’ve picked out a goalscorer for them as they host Ludogorets (17:45, TNT Sports).

Read on for my Football Bet of the Day for Thursday, November 28.

Football Bet of the Day - Thursday, November 28

  • Pedro to score anytime @ 11/8

Lazio are on fire in the Europa League. Marco Baroni’s men have won four from four in this competition and currently sit in top spot in the new league table we are slowly getting accustomed to in 2024/25. They should certainly finish in the top eight which would give them automatic progression to the last 16, and a win against Ludogorets at home will send them well on their way to the knockout stage.

Ludogorets on the other hand have underperformed this year in Europe, accumulating just one point from their four Europa League matches so far. That puts them way down in 32nd position and their chances of progression are fading quickly. It’s clear from what we have seen so far that the home side are rightly heavy favourites to win this game, but priced at just 2/9 to do so, I’ve looked for other value in backing a home success.

The giants from the Italian capital should win this game comfortably, and I’m going to back a man in form to find the net once again. Pedro has immense pedigree, winning the Champions League three times with Barcelona, and adding a Europa League title to his name with Chelsea in 2019.

Lazio vs Ludogorets Odds

He may now be 37, but he’s changed his game from electric winger to canny goalscorer for Lazio this term. Three goals in Europe this season put him in the running for the Golden Boot, and he is only one behind the likes of Samu Aghehowa of Porto, who currently leads the way in the scoring charts.

Having scored in that 2019 final success, Pedro has now found the net in each of his last three Europa League appearances. If he scores against a Ludogorets team that is leaking goals he will become the oldest player to score four in a row, beating Spanish compatriot Aritz Aduriz (36 years, 299 days).

He’s also got three Serie A goals to his name in his last six appearances and given the form that the experienced winger is in, I think it makes perfect sense to back him to find the net anytime in this one. Ludogorets haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last three outings, while they have conceded six times in this competition so far.

Pedro can write his own little bit of history in Rome on Wednesday evening.
