Football Bet of the Day: Celtic can ease to Easter Road win

Celtic laid down a marker in their opening weekend win over Kilmarnock, as the Scottish Premiership champions began the defence of their title.
Brendan Rodgers seems to have regained some goodwill with the Celtic Park faithful following last season’s success. The club are hoping to push forward this term with a couple of additions, as they target success in Europe and a domestic treble.
Their first league trip of the weekend comes on Sunday (12:30, Sky Sports Main Event) when they head to a Hibernian side who endured a tough 2023/24 campaign. With no bright shoots of recovery from their opening weekend defeat, look to get behind the Bhoys in Sunday's football bet of the day.

Celtic ran out 4-0 winners over Kilmarnock last Sunday, which was a thumping victory over the side that finished fourth last term. That big win continued the momentum that Rodgers’s men built up across a very successful summer trip to the USA.
While preseason results always have to be handled with caution, the scale of Celtic’s results is worth noting. They travelled to the USA in July, dismantling MLS side DC United 4-0 in their first game.
That was followed by a 4-3 win over Premier League champions Manchester City before they blew away Chelsea 4-1. The crushing win over Killie shows those performances were no flukes; Rodgers has assembled an impressive attacking outfit that will give Premiership sides a lot of trouble.
Danish midfielder Matt O’Riley continues to attract attention across Europe, but Rodgers has remained bullish on his future. The club have a valuation of O’Riley that no side has gotten close to, so he remains a Celtic player and continues to feature in the team.
Reo Hatate’s return to fitness is also a boost, as he was outstanding in the win over Killie. Nikolas Kuhn is another poised to step up. After making just nine starts last term, the German winger scored in a start at the weekend following his brace against Man City.
That talented Celtic side head to a Hibernian outfit who were thumped 3-0 at St Mirren in their first league game of the campaign. David Gray’s team have already suffered an embarrassing 1-0 defeat to League 1 Kelty Hearts in the League Cup this term and prospects of a turnaround don’t look high.
Celtic should win this by a few goals, which makes the visitors hold some appeal with a -2 handicap at 21/10. However, backing them to score three or more removes the prospect of a Hibs consolation closing the gap.
The Bhoys have scored 22 goals across their last five games including pre-season outings. They scored 95 goals in 38 games last season and it wouldn’t be a surprise if this side exceeded that total.
Hibs have lost three of their last five league games, including a 4-0 hammering at home to Aberdeen, so back Celtic’s high-scoring form to continue.
