Newport have recorded back-to-back wins heading into this game, while the Bantams are on a three-game winless streak.

Bradford have endured a mixed start to their 2024/25 League 2 campaign.

A combination of three wins, three draws and three defeats leaves them on 12 points, sat 13th in the table with a goal difference of just one. Bradford took seven points from the first nine on offer in League 2, but have accumulated five points from the last six matches, with the Bantam faithful knowing that they need to start picking up wins soon.

This match may represent the perfect opportunity for Graham Alexander's side to get back on track however, as Newport don't tend to travel well, and the Yorkshire outfit beat Newport twice last term, winning both games 4-1.

County's only away win domestically this term came at Morecambe, one of only two fourth-tier sides without a win. Their defeats have come against Cheltenham, Swindon and Barrow, and the Exiles conceded nine in the process, failing to score in two of those games. This poor away form is nothing new for the Exiles, who lost 15 of their 23 games last term.

In addition, no side has faced as many shots as Newport (150), and they have the third-worst defensive record in League 2.

The Bantams are a skinny 4/9 outright to win the game, so for added value I'm backing a Bradford win and both teams to score, as Alexander's side are susceptible to conceding a goal, as shown by just three clean sheets across 12 games in all competitions this term.

Meanwhile, Newport have won just one of their last nine away games against Bradford, losing seven times and failing to score on six separate occasions. However, for all of Newport's defensive frailties, they rank second in the league in terms of shots on target, so I believe they can get on the scoresheet at Valley Parade.
