Domestic action returns on Friday evening and there’s an interesting clash in the Championship between Rotherham United and Leeds United.

The are 19 places between the two sides in the second tier and Leeds are well fancied to leave the New York Stadium with three points.

  • Leeds to win and over 3.5 goals @ 2/1

The Whites look to be one of only a handful of teams who are capable of pegging back duelling leaders Leicester City and Ipswich Town at the top of the Championship table and Daniel Farke is adept at achieving promotion from the second tier.

Leeds will be looking to close the gap on the league leaders on Friday night.

Rotherham made the curious decision to part ways with manager Matt Taylor prior to the international break and that looks anything but ideal preparation for the visit of one of the strongest sides in the Championship.

The Millers sit in the relegation places, at the bottom of the Championship table, but they have only lost two of their last six matches and they have been beaten only twice at the New York Stadium this season.

Of course, the fans and hierarchy of the club will have ambitions, but it’s reasonable to expect Rotherham to be in the position they are, given the limited resources in south Yorkshire, and Taylor’s dismissal could leave the Millers in more trouble.

Meanwhile, Leeds have found their stride and the Whites have won six of their last seven Championship matches.

Farke’s men were excellent when winning 1-0 at Leicester and that gave the impression that Leeds could be capable of running down the Foxes in the battle for automatic promotion.

The Whites hammered Huddersfield Town 4-1, they hit the net three times at Norwich City and, although the goals haven’t always flowed, Leeds have won the shot count in all of their last ten matches and they could run riot against a Rotherham side in disarray.

The Millers conceded five at Watford last time out, they were hit for two against Ipswich prior to that and QPR should have turned a 1-1 draw at the New York Stadium into a victory.

The likes of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter should get plenty of chances in an excellent Leeds attack and, at 2/1, backing the Whites to win and over 3.5 goals in the match looks a nice bet.
