Besiktas vs Kayserispor Prediction: Black Eagles can bash struggling rivals

Besiktas and Kayserispor return from the winter break for a clash at the Besiktas Stadium on Monday (17:00) with the two sides having very different targets.
Sergen Yalcın’s men won’t be a factor in the title race, but the Black Eagles have European qualification ambitions and a home tie against Kayserispor should give a good opportunity to collect three points. The visitors are struggling at the wrong end of the Turkish Super Lig table and will be hoping for any kind of positive result to help them start to pull away from relegation danger.

Team News
Jonas Svensson and Arda Kilic have made January moves away while Besiktas will also be without Mustafa Erhan Hekimoglu through injury. Wilfred Ndidi has been away on international duty with Nigeria and is unlikely to feature.
Abdulsamet Burak is suspended for Kayserispor and the winter break hasn’t offered much relief as Majid Hosseini, Yigit Celtik, Gideon Jung and Lionel Carole are out injured. However, youngster Jadel Katongo is available following his arrival from Manchester City.
Besiktas vs Kayserispor Predicted Lineups
- Besiktas: Destanolglu; Sazdagi, Djalo, Uduokhai, Yilmaz; Ucan, Kokcu; Rashica, Cerny, Toure; Abraham
- Kayserispor: Bayazit; Civelek, Denswil, Cihan, Opoku; Benes, Bennasser; Mane, Mendes, Cardoso; Onugkha
Besiktas are red-hot 4/11 favourties on their return from the winter break, with Kayserispor 6/1 for a shock victory and the draw a 4/1 chance.
Over 2.5 goals is well-fancied at 4/9, but both teams to score is a bigger price at 4/6.
Besiktas vs Kayserispor Stats
- Besiktas have lost just two of their last 13 league games
- Tammy Abraham has scored six goals in his last 13 appearances for Besiktas
Besiktas to win & over 2.5 goals @ 4/5
Besiktas have lost only two of their last 13 Turkish Super Lig games and the Black Eagles move into the second half of the domestic season with European qualification ambitions.
Sergen Yalcın has steadied the ship in his second spell in charge after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was dismissed following a disappointing Conference League exit to Lausanne back in August.
Besiktas have beaten Fenerbahce and Keciorengucu in the Turkish Cup in their most recent two competitive contests and they were good 1-0 winners over Rizespor in their last league outing.
The Black Eagles hit 17 shots on goal and created four or five excellent opportunities in that contest and it’s eight goals in four Turkish top-flight matches for the Istanbul outfit.
Kayserispor are in a relegation battle, having won only two league games all season and the Anatolian Star have conceded 33 goals in their 17 top-flight games.
Those defensive issues are a concern for Radomir Dalovic’s men and taking a Besiktas victory and over 2.5 goals in the contest rates a play.

Tammy Abraham to score first @ 3/1
Tammy Abraham wouldn’t be considered as one of Europe’s top strikers and maybe the link-up play and general level isn’t quite there. However, on pure goalscoring efforts the former Chelsea man continues to produce the goods.
The 28-year-old has hit six goals in his last 13 Besiktas appearances and it’s no surprise to see Aston Villa amongst others linked with a move for the former England international.
It appears that Abraham will still be in Turkey on Monday night and the on-loan forward can give Besiktas a parting gift by opening the scoring at the Besiktas Stadium.
