Team News
Antonio Silva can be expected to play alongside veteran Nicolas Otamendi in the heart of defence for Benfica on Tuesday.
Midfielders Orkun Kokcu and Leandro Barreiro are candidates to start in the middle of the pitch following their strong performances against Auckland City last time out. Kokcu may be limited to a cameo, though, because it looks like he and boss Bruno Lage don't currently see eye-to-eye.
Stalwart attacker Angel Di Maria netted twice against Auckland, and he could play in the forward line with Vangelis Pavlidis, Kerem Akturkoglu and Gianluca Prestianni against Bayern.
The Argentine is currently the joint-top scorer at the Club World Cup alongside Bayern duo Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala (three goals).
Benfica vs Bayern Munich Stats
- Bayern have won the last five meetings with Benfica
- Harry Kane (BAY) has scored 39 goals in all competitions this season
- Over 2.5 goals has struck in both of Bayern's CWC matches so far
Bayern boss Vincent Kompany can afford to take it easy in this match with their place in the knockout stage secured. There is room for plenty of rotation here but he may still want to finish the group stage with a perfect record, so there may only be a couple of alterations.
Josip Stanisic and summer signing Jonathan Tah may continue at centre-back due to the limited options as a result of injuries, while Dayot Upamecano offers an alternative for Die Roten.
Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich made up the engine room against Boca Juniors and the duo could continue in the engine room against Benfica.
Veteran Thomas Muller, who's leaving Bayern once their CWC journey comes to an end, picked up an injury last time out and he is considered a doubt for Tuesday.
Kingsley Coman, Olise and Musiala could be the attacking trio to support striker Harry Kane in Charlotte.
Benfica would benefit from the victory more than Bayern, who are already through, and the Aguias are 3/1 to triumph here.
The stalemate is marketed at 23/10. Bayern are 11/10 (which has an implied probability of 47.6%) to come out on top and they have beaten Benfica in the past five meetings between the two clubs.
Both teams to score has been a winning selection in each of the past three games for both clubs across competitions and it is available at 4/5 on this occasion.
Price Boost - Bayern Munich to win, Harry Kane to score & both teams to score @ 4/1 5/1
When looking for value in this contest, I must admit this Price Boost that Betfred are offering has drawn me in. I think the onus will be on Benfica here as they need a result more than their opponents, but Bayern's attacking quality is frightening and I can see them picking off the Portuguese side when they commit bodies forward.
Bayern cruised to a 10-0 victory over Auckland City in their opening fixture and they came out on top against Boca Juniors last time out. It was a much more competitive game, like this expected to be, but Die Bayern's quality continues to shine through each time.
It looks inevitable that Bayern will score because of the talent within their ranks and no one stands above Kane for goals in that team. The England international has 39 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions for Bayern this season as he continues to show that he is one of the best strikers in the world.
He opened his CWC account against Boca and I think that has whetted his appetite for more, and I think he may profit against Benfica.
With everything on the line for Benfica, I do think there will be goals at both ends, particularly as this has been a successful bet in five of their last six matches in all competitions.
The Aguias have quality of their own in the final third in the likes of Di Maria and Vangelis Pavlidis, and these two in particular can have their say on proceedings, especially as Bayern are not blessed with depth in defensive areas right now.

Over 2.5 goals @ 10/11
With both clubs possessing a lot of good players in attacking areas, and the fact that they have scored 20 goals between them at the Club World Cup so far, I think it's fair to assume that there will be goals on offer in North Carolina.
As this is set to be one of the more tightly-matched encounters in the group, I think over 2.5 goals is a realistic threshold on Tuesday. There have been at least three goals scored in all four matches featuring one of these two sides in this tournament so far, and I believe this trend will continue when they face one another.
Over 2.5 goals has struck in all of Benfica's last three appearances in all competitions, while this is also the case for Bayern Munich.
