Benfica vs Bayern Munich Bet Builder Tips: Seven up for Olise in 16/1 shot

Bayern Munich booked their ticket to the knockout stage of the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup with back-to-back victories over Auckland City (10-0) and Boca Juniors (2-1) last week, but Vincent Kompany's side still need to avoid defeat to Benfica on Tuesday (20:00 BST, DAZN) to clinch top spot in Group C ahead of the Portuguese side, who require a point themselves to ensure entry to the last 16 ahead of Boca Juniors.
Below are my Benfica vs Bayern Munich Bet Builder Tips, as the two teams prepare to face off for the second time this season, following the German giants' 1-0 win in the league phase of the Uefa Champions League last November.

1st Half Total Goals Over/Under 1.5 - Under
Just a single goal was scored in the previous meeting between these sides this season, with Jamal Musiala netting a 67th-minute winner for Bayern in Munich.
I'm expecting another close contest, at least in terms of the scoreline, on Tuesday, with Bayern only needing to avoid defeat to finish first in Group C, and Benfica needing the same to stay second. At the start of the tournament, Bayern were installed as big favourites to win the group, while Benfica were expected to take the runners-up spot ahead of Boca, so both clubs would have taken this position if offered to them before their first game.
Bayern enjoyed a record-breaking 10-0 victory over Auckland City in their opening match, with six goals scored before half-time, but last time out against Boca, there was just a single strike before the interval, from Harry Kane in the 10th minute. The second and third goals of the game came in the second half, as Miguel Merentiel levelled the scores in the 66th minute before Michael Olise popped up with a decisive effort for Kompany's charges in the 84th minute.
Benfica, meanwhile, started their campaign off with an exciting 2-2 draw with Boca, coming from two goals down to claim a point. Three of those goals were struck in the first half, but against part-timers Auckland City, they could only manage one before the half-time whistle - and that was from the penalty spot in the eighth minute of added time - before hitting five in the second half to rack up a 6-0 scoreline.
Of course, Benfica would love to finish first, but the main objective for Bruno Lage's side is to qualify by any means, and avoiding defeat on Tuesday would ensure they stay second ahead of Boca. The Aguilas might look to keep things tight early on, before sizing up opportunities for counter-attacks in the second half.
Similarly, Bayern don't need to rush into anything, content that a draw would clinch top spot.
It's worth noting, too, that Flamengo are currently top in Group D, and on course to face Benfica in the last 16, while Chelsea, who must avoid defeat to Esperance de Tunis on Wednesday to clinch qualification ahead of the Tunisians, are in line for a meeting with Bayern.
Player to Score at Anytime - Michael Olise (MUN)
What a couple of months and a season Olise is having at Bayern.
The 23-year-old has scored 20 goals and registered 21 assists in 52 appearances in his debut campaign at the club, and there are potentially five more matches to play.
The France international has been particularly potent in front of goal since the end of April, netting in his last six games for Bayern, while he was also on target for his national team in their 2-0 Uefa Nations League third-place play-off victory over Germany on June 8.
Olise has scored three goals in his first two Club World Cup outings, bagging a brace in 45 minutes against Auckland City before hitting the winner against Benfica last time out, and the Golden Boot is now a real possibility, as he is top of the scorer charts alongside four other players.
He didn't manage to plot a way past Benfica in November, but he hit the target with one of his two efforts, and considering his recent form, I think he's criminally undervalued in the anytime goalscorer market here at 9/4, putting him below the likes of Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry (both 2/1) and Thomas Muller (21/20).
Benfica vs Bayern Munich Bet Builder Stats
- No goals were scored before half-time in November's UCL H2H
- Michael Olise (MUN) has scored in his last six club appearances (seven goals)
- Nicolas Otamendi (BEN) has shot twice in both of his CWC games (scored against Boca Juniors)
- Four offsides were recorded in last H2H (three for Benfica, one for Bayern Munich)
Nicolas Otamendi (BEN) Total Shots - 1+
Argentina international Nicolas Otamendi came up clutch for Benfica in their first group game, powering an 84th-minute header past Boca goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin, having inadvertently opened the scoring in the 21st minute with an own-goal.
His late equaliser was his second shot of the match - in the right direction - after missing with a header in the 58th minute.
The 37-year-old recorded another couple of efforts against Auckland, seeing a right-footed shot saved in the ninth minute and a header miss the target in the 34th minute.
Chances could be at a premium for Benfica on Wednesday, with Bayern limiting the Aguilas to just a single shot in their Champions League meeting last November.
Set-pieces, then, could be crucial for Lage's charges, and few are better at attacking them than Otamendi, who averaged 0.9 shots per game in the 2024/25 Primeira Liga and 0.8 shots per game in the Champions League, despite being a centre-back.
The veteran defender shot in both legs of Benfica's Champions League last-16 defeat to Barcelona in March, scoring in the second, and I fancy his chances of taking aim against another of European football's powerhouses, Bayern, who afforded Boca centre-back Ayrton Costa time to shoot once last Saturday.
Total Offsides - Over 3.5
This selection was a winner when the sides met in November, with Benfica flagged offside three times, and Bayern once.
Benfica have been flagged offside 10 times already this competition, four against Boca, who were whistled once, and six against Auckland.
Bayern, meanwhile, doubled Auckland's offside tally of two in their opening group game, with six recorded in total, and Kompany's men were then penalised three times for the offence against Boca.
