Benfica vs Auckland City Bet Builder Tips: 16/1 shot for Friday’s contest

Benfica will be looking to get into the win column on Friday afternoon (17:00, live on DAZN) when they take on Group C minnows Auckland City for their second game of the Fifa Club World Cup.

The Portuguese giants stole a point from Boca Juniors on matchday one, while their Kiwi counterparts suffered a monumental loss and may well suffer the same fate here. Read on for my Benfica vs Auckland City Bet Builder tips.

Benfica Total Corners Over/Under 9.5 - Over

After Auckland City's 10-0 demolition at the hands of Bayern Munich in their opening Fifa Club World Cup encounter, as you can imagine, it's quite difficult to create a bet builder with significant value. However, I believe that my 16/1 shot has a decent chance of landing on Friday.

Of course, I'm expecting Auckland to be dominated akin to how they were against Vincent Kompany's side on Sunday -  and we're starting with Benfica's total corner count in Orlando.

Bayern Munich managed to rack up 10 corners against the New Zealand-based outfit so I don't why Benfica can't do the same. The Portuguese side managed to win seven corners of their own in a competitive tie with Boca Juniors on matchday one, so at least 10 doesn't seem too far-fetched against a team that look out of their depth.

Total Goals Over/Under 6.5 - Over

The Navy Blues became the first side to to concede 10 goals in a single Club World Cup game in their opening match and while I don't think they'll suffer another loss of the same magnitude, I do believe that Benfica can rack up the score on Friday.

Benfica aren't on Bayern Munich's level in terms of quality, but the gulf in class between the two sides on Friday means that we'll see plenty of goalmouth action at the Inter & Co Stadium.

Benfica Total Shots On Target - Over 15.5

Following on from my previous pick, shots and goals go hand-in-hand, and with the rest of Group C looking competitive, goal difference could play a huge factor in deciding who secures qualification.

Bayern have set a high bar with their 10-0 victory over Auckland and I believe Benfica will at least want to try and match that, so I'm anticipating that Conor Tracey will have a busy evening in the Auckland net.

In addition, ACFC conceded 17 shots on target in the aforementioned 10-0 loss to Bayern.

First Goalscorer - Angel Di Maria

My final pick is for Angel Di Maria to open the scoring on Friday.

The former Real Madrid man scored in the 2-2 draw with Boca, and has netted 16 times in 41 games for Benfica this term. In addition, the Argentina international is on penalty duty for Bruno Lage's side, which boosts his chances of getting on the scoresheet - and Auckland conceded a penalty against Bayern on Sunday.
