Belgium vs Italy Bet Builder Tips: Wullaert can inspire underdogs

The Uefa Women's Euro 2025 action continues on Thursday as Belgium face Italy in the opening fixture in Group B (17:00 BST, BBC Two).

The match is taking place at the Stade de Tourbillon in Sion, Switzerland before tournament favourites Spain face Portugal in the other game in the section. Read on for my Belgium vs Italy Bet Builder Tips.

Belgium vs Italy Odds

Spain are hot favourites to win the group with Italy expected to qualify as runners-up but Belgium proved in this year's Nations League that they should not be taken lightly.

Belgium or draw double chance

It has been feast or famine for Belgium recently as they have won six and lost five of their last 11 internationals.

However, one of those defeats was a creditable 3-2 Nations League loss to world champions Spain in February, when they led 2-1 before conceding twice in injury-time.

The Red Flames also beat England 3-2 and Portugal, one of their rivals in Group B, 3-0 during their Nations League campaign and they can pick up at least a point against Italy.

The Azzurre's 2025 Nations League results were patchy. They defeated Wales at home and away but lost to Denmark and Sweden and were held to a 0-0 draw at home to the Swedes at the end of May.

Tessa Wullaert to score at any time

Italy's defenders know all about the threat of Belgium striker Tessa Wullaert, who plays her club football for Inter Milan.

The former Manchester City forward comes into this tournament in great form. She scored twice in April's surprise win over European champions England and claimed another brace in last month's victory over Portugal.

Wullaert was on target again in Belgium's final friendly before the tournament, a 2-0 win against Greece, and she may well add to her record tally of 93 international goals on Thursday.

Both teams to score

Italy have some dangerous forwards of their own in Juventus ace Sofia Cantore and prolific veteran Cristiana Girelli so backing both teams to score looks a solid Bet Builder selection.

Despite their impressive efforts against Spain and England, Belgium still conceded 16 goals in six Nations League matches this year.

They shipped another five in June's friendly defeat to France so an open game is expected when they face Italy, who have found the net in nine of their last 10 matches.
