Belarus vs Luxembourg Prediction: Red Lions to put up major fight

Pulses probably won't be racing when Belarus take on Luxembourg in the Hungarian town of Zalaegerszeg in Nations League C Group 3 action on Tuesday (19:45).
Belarus' two previous Nations League matches at their adopted ZTE Arena home have produced 0-0 draws, and the six matches in the group so far have produced a grand total of just four goals. Read below for my Belarus vs Luxembourg prediction alongside all the latest team news and match odds.
Team News
Veteran centre-back and captain Aleksandr Martynovich missed Saturday's 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland through suspension and will return.
Martynovich will be the central defender at the heart of Carlos Alos' preferred 3-4-2-1 set-up.
In seven internationals this year Belarus have scored only one goal, so Alos could be tempted to hand 22-year-old Dinamo Brest frontman German Barkovskiy just his second start.
Luxembourg head coach Luc Holz will have to make changes to personnel though may not alter the 3-5-2 system which earned his side a 0-0 draw in Bulgaria.
Anchorman midfielder Kiki Martins and wideman Felix Bohnert picked up yellow cards and are banned.
Maxine Chanot (knee) is a doubt and Holz needs to decide whether or not to start the country's leading scorer Gerson Rodrigues.

There have been three 0-0 draws in six Nations League C Group 3 matches so no surprise no goalscorer is just a 5/1 chance. Under 2.5 goals is 2/5, while it's 8/13 that at least one of the teams fails to score.
In 90-minute betting, Belarus are 7/4 and Luxembourg are 9/5, while the draw is 9/5.
Match Result - Draw @ 9/5
Luxembourg are one of only two countries - Andorra are the other - who have yet to score a goal in the current Nations League campaign, and given that they are averaging a woeful 6.3 shots per match, perhaps it's no great surprise.
One of those blanks was in the home game against Belarus last month, a 1-0 win for the Belarussians, which is the only goal they have scored throughout the campaign.
They are averaging only nine shots per game and it really is hard to get super-excited about a match that is likely to be devoid of goals and, therefore, the draw at 9/5 looks like a fair runner.
Belarus have been involved in three 0-0 draws during 2024 and that goal scored by Valery Gromko at the Stade de Luxembourg is the only goal they have managed since last November.
Luxembourg have also failed to score in six of seven internationals played during 2024.
Belarus ought to have home advantage, except the game is being played behind closed doors in neutral Hungary.

Most Corners - Belarus @ 21/20
There might not be many goals at the ZTE Arena and there probably won't be many corners, either, but the majority are set to be claimed by Belarus.
In the return game in Luxembourg, the visitors bossed the corner count six to two.
Alos' side have racked up 14 corners in their three outings to date, compared to Luxembourg's haul of just eight.
