Wednesday night offers up two sensational Champions League quarter-finals, with both of them perfectly-balanced heading into the second leg. Our focus is on Bayern Munich vs Arsenal (20:00, TNT Sports), as the Gunners try to make it to the final four of the Champions League for the first time since 2009.

Bayern Munich have lost their Bundesliga crown to Bayer Leverkusen this week, but will be pleased with the work they put in at the Emirates. With the scoreline currently level, it’s a winner-takes-all tie at the Allianz Arena, and we’ve put together some Bayern Munich vs Arsenal Bet Builder Tips for you to consider.

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal Bet Builder Tips

  • Bayern Munich to win

  • Jorginho to get booked

Bayern Munich to win

I think Arsenal might have blown it. That damaging home defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend looks to have derailed their title challenge, or at the very least knocked them off course. They will have also expected to beat Bayern on home soil, and although they recovered from 2-1 down, you have to say the Germans are now in pole position to qualify.

With Harry Kane, Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala, I can see Bayern getting a few goals here. Their raucous home crowd might just be too much for the Gunners to handle, and they could wilt in this quarter-final of the Champions League. Arsenal aren’t used to being in these sorts of games, Bayern Munich are. I think that could be a crucial factor in this decisive second leg.

Harry Kane to score

I was going to have BTTS on this betslip, but Arsenal haven’t convinced me in front of goal lately. Instead, I’m happy to side with Bayern’s number nine and Arsenal’s nemesis to strike again. Kane scored a penalty at the Emirates and will be desperate to put the Gunners to the sword in Munich.

He’s scored 32 in 29 games in the Bundesliga, and seven in nine in the Champions League. Adding him in here is the most obvious choice, but also the most sensible. If Bayern are to have a profitable evening, Kane will have to produce the goods. He’d love nothing more than to drive a stake through Arsenal’s hopes of European glory on Wednesday night.

Jorginho to get booked

Dropped for the weekend defeat against Aston Villa, Jorginho is near-certain to come back into Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He’s been one of the underrated stars of the season from a Premier League perspective, and provides a little more security than the likes of Kai Havertz for Arsenal. I expect him to start as the deepest-lying midfielder here, with Declan Rice given more licence to roam forward and start attacks. The Italian’s card record has actually been almost spotless this term, as he’s picked up just two yellows all season.

However, I see that as a positive, as we are getting good value on him to get booked at the Allianz Arena. The reason I’ve picked out Jorginho is based on this second leg being so important to both teams. Arteta will demand that his midfielders are combative, and if they have to stop a counter-attack, they will do so. Jorginho is going to be up against a difficult midfield, with Musiala and Leon Goretzka both willing runners that can expose his lack of pace. I think he’ll have to make a foul at some point, and in an arena baying for blood, he should pick up a yellow.
