Bayern Munich vs Hoffenheim Predictions: Bayern can bulldoze their way past hapless Hoffenheim

The Bundesliga returns after the winter break on Friday evening with European hopefuls Hoffenheim travelling to perennial league winners Bayern Munich as the Bavarians chase their twelfth straight title.

Bayern ended the year strongly with victories over Manchester United in Europe as well as at home to high-flying Stuttgart, but they started December with their first league defeat of the season, a 5-1 humbling at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Hoffenheim, meanwhile, remain within touching distance of the continental positions despite a poor end to 2023, winning just one game in the final month of the calendar year.

Team News

The champions will be missing key defenders Kim Min-jae and Noussair Mazraoui due to their involvement in the Asia Cup and Africa Cup of Nations respectively.

Bayern will also have plenty of players missing with various injury issues, with Tom Hulsmann, Serge Gnabry, Daniel Peretz, Tarek Buchmann and Bouna Sarr all on the treatment table.

Pellegrino Matarazzo will also have a number of absentees for this fixture, as Dennis Geiger (fitness), Bambase Conte (adductor pain), Marco John and Mergim Berisha (both cruciate ligament) remain on the sidelines.

Diadie Samassekou is also missing for the visitors as he has joined up with Mali for AFCON.

Thomas Tuchel’s men are overwhelming favourites to record victory at 1/8, whereas Hoffenheim are 14/1 to land a surprise victory at the Allianz Arena.

A draw can be backed at 8/1 whilst Harry Kane is considered to be the likeliest first goalscorer at 2/1.

Bayern to win and over 3.5 goals @ 4/6

 Bar the blip in Frankfurt at the beginning of December, Bayern have looked at their unbeatable best in all competitions.

The Bavarians are the league’s top scorers with 49 goals and also boast one of the strongest defences in the Bundesliga, with only leaders Bayer Leverkusen conceding less than their total of 15.

Tuchel has once again made the Allianz Arena a fortress, with his side winning all but one their seven home league games this season. They have scored 30 goals in the process, including 7-0 and 8-0 victories over Bochum and Darmstadt respectively.

Hoffenheim have never won at Bayern and that torrid run looks set to continue against a Bayern side in rampant goalscoring form.

Harry Kane to score 2 or more @ 7/5

 Englishman Kane has taken to the Bundesliga like a duck to water, with the striker topping the Bundesliga scoring charts with 21 goals and five assists.

This includes six strikes in his last five games, with two of those matches seeing the in-form forward bag a brace.

With seemingly nothing stopping the striker from finding the back of the net, 7/5 could prove to be good value for the Englishman to bag another couple in what should be a high-scoring clash.
