An incredible season keeps getting better for Bayer Leverkusen. The German side have just set the record for the longest unbeaten run in their history (29 matches) following their victory over Darmstadt over the weekend.

Xabi Alonso's men now turn to the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals as they welcome VfB Stuttgart to the BayArena on Tuesday evening (19:45).

Bayer Leverkusen vs VfB Stuttgart Betting Tips

  • Bayer Leverkusen to win - 8/13
  • Both teams to score - 4/7

Match Odds

Bayer Leverkusen are the 8/13 favourites to progress to the semi-finals in 90 minutes. A draw can be backed at 3/1, while Stuttgart are 10/3 to end their emphatic unbeaten run.

Both teams to score is valued at 4/7 and over 2.5 goals is 8/15.

Team News

Leverkusen welcomed back Edmond Tapsoba from the Africa Cup of Nations at the weekend as the defender featured against Darmstadt, but Odilon Kossounou remains at the tournament with Ivory Coast.

Victor Boniface, Arthur and Exequiel Palacios are sidelined through injury for the hosts.

Denis Undav, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, should start for the visitors after scoring four goals in his last two Bundesliga outings, including a hat-trick against RB Leipzig.

It is uncertain if top scorer Serhou Guirassy will feature after recently returning from AFCON with Guinea. Silas Katompa Mvumpa is still competing in the tournament with DR Congo.

Jeong Woo-yeong is at the Asian Cup, while Dan-Axel Zagadou and Nikolas Nartey are in the treatment room.

Bayer Leverkusen to win in 90 minutes @ 8/13

Given how good the hosts have been this term, as evidenced by their unbeaten streak, it is hard to see them falling just as soon as they have set the club record.

They have an excellent chance of reaching the DFB-Pokal semi-finals on Tuesday, but they will also be conscious of what lies ahead of them later in the week, a gargantuan clash with Bundesliga title rivals Bayern Munich, also at the BayArena.

With this in mind, particularly with Bayern not being involved in any action in midweek, Alonso could rest some key stars against Stuttgart. This shouldn't be too concerning, however.

Given the way that they play and the quality that they have in depth, they should still boast too much quality for Stuttgart here, even if some of the star players are called upon from the bench.

Both teams to score @ 4/7

While we do expect Die Schwarzroten to progress to the semi-finals and stretch their unbeaten run to 30 games here, if the team is rotated it will present Stuttgart with an opportunity.

The visitors are third in the Bundesliga and they themselves have shown themselves to be a force to reckoned with this year. The two sides have already met at the MHPArena in December as they played out a 1-1 draw.

Stuttgart have already managed to breach the defence of Alonso's strongest XI, so they should have no issues scoring against a back line of deputies if the team is freshened up.

Both teams to score at 4/7
