Barcelona welcome Borussia Dortmund to Montjuic on Wednesday (20:00, TNT Sports 2) for the first leg of their Uefa Champions League quarter-final tie. Barca have been explosive in Europe this season, scoring 32 goals, the most of any team in the competition.

Dortmund have dabbled in the goals themselves with 28 to their name, so this has the makings of a really entertaining contest over two legs. Below you will find my Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund bet builder tips, which pay out 7/2.

Barcelona to win

We kick off our Bet Builder with Barcelona to win. Hansi Flick's side have been mesmerising in the Champions League this term and they have only lost two of their 10 appearances to date.

The Blaugrana are yet to taste defeat on home turf, with only one of their five games to date ending in a stalemate. The Spanish giants have been convincing victors in every other fixture at home in Europe, where 53% (17/32) of their goals in this competition have been scored.

Dortmund will present the hosts with a challenge, having ran Barcelona closeley when they met at Signal Iduna Park during the league phase. Flick's men won a five-goal thriller, and we could see a similar scoreline unfold this time around.

having won four of their six away trips in the UCL, but they are entering the lions' den. Barcelona have been far and away the best team in this competition so far, and I think this will be reflected in the scoreline at full-time.

Football Odds

Both teams to score

Following on from that last point, I think Dortmund will play their part in delivering a thrilling tie, and I predict that we will see goals at both ends on Wednesday.

The Black and Yellows have found the back of the net in all six of their Champions League matches away from home in 2024/25, and BTTS has been a winning selection in three of them. And we can't forget that this has already been a successful bet when the two teams faced off in December.

For Barca, three of their five contests at Montjuic have seen both sides get on the scoresheet. And as I have already mentioned, Barcelona and Dortmund have been two of the best attacking teams in Europe this year, with 32 and 28 goals respectively.

And as you can imagine, they both boast players who have been scoring frequently in Europe throughout the campaign. Blaugrana winger Raphinha is the current leading marksman in the UCL with 11 goals, but hot on his heels is Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy. Both have been brilliant to watch this season and both have play starring roles for their sides in this clash.

Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund Stats

  • Barcelona are the top scorers in the UCL with 32 goals
  • Borussia Dortmund have found the net on 28 occasions in the UCL

Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund Odds

Over 3.5 goals

There should be no issues with both teams scoring here, and I think it's fair to assume that we will be treated to a high-scoring affair on Wednesday night, too. The next leg of this punt is over 3.5 goals, which has been a common occurrence for both clubs in the Champions League this season.

For Barca, seven of their 10 fixtures have yielded four or more goals, including their trip to Dortmund earlier in the campaign. Four of their five matches at Montjuic have produced over 3.5 goals, so I think we could see this trend continue in midweek.

Dortmund have been involved in four games that have featured four goals or more but only one of them has come on their travels. I don't think this matters given that they have already played Barca this term and there was no shortage of goals in Germany.

Raphinha to score anytime

I round this Bet Builder off with a goalscorer. It might be a safe selection but I'm confident we will see Raphinha extend his tally at the top of the scoring charts. The Brazilian has been exceptional for Barca and 11 goals in Europe is a very impressive tally.

He scored three goals across the two legs with Benfica in the round of 16 in March, so he will full of confidence ahead of his side's reunion with Dortmund. I think he will also be helped by the fact that he scored against the Black and Yellows back in December, so we could see him come back to haunt Niko Kovac's team.
