The third and final Sydney derby of the 2025/26 Australian A-League Men's season takes place this Saturday (10:35 BST, TNT Sports 4) at CommBank Stadium, where hosts Western Sydney triumphed 1-0 against Sydney FC last November before falling to a 1-0 defeat in January's reverse meeting at Allianz Stadium.

Below are my Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney predictions, alongside all the latest team news and match odds, as bottom-of-the-table Wanderers, who will miss out on this year's finals series, look to dent their fifth-placed rivals' chances.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney Betting Tips

  • Booking Points Over/Under +37.5 - Over 37.5 @ 4/5
  • Both Teams to Score in First Half - Yes @ 5/2

Team News

Western Sydney Wanderers defender Jacob Farrell (groin) is out for the rest of the season, but Brandon Borrello has recovered from his own groin problem after missing last weekend's 3-0 defeat at Melbourne City.

Hiroshi Ibusuki, Kosta Barbarouses (both calf) and Ryan Fraser (Achilles), all of whom missed out at AAMI Park, too, are also back in Gary van Egmond's extended squad.

Football Odds

Alex Grant (hamstring) and Joe Lolley (ankle) are sidelined for Sydney, but Abel Walatee and Marcel Tisserand are in contention to feature at CommBank Stadium after missing last week's goalless draw at Brisbane Roar, which was Patrick Kisnorbo's second game in charge following the dismissal of previous head coach Ufuk Talay, who appears set to switch sides and join the Wanderers in the summer.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney Predicted Lineups

  • Western Sydney Wanderers: Thomas; Cancar, Brillante, Pantazopoulos, Gersbach; Kraev, Ugarkovic, Thurgate, Scicluna, Fraser; Borrello
  • Sydney: Devenish-Meares; R. Grant, Popovic, Tisserand, Garuccio; Youlley, Okon-Engstler; Toure, Arslan, Quintal; Stamatelopoulos

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney Odds

Western Sydney Wanderers are 7/5 to exact their revenge for January's defeat, implying a 41.7% probability of success, while Sydney are 6/4, or a 40% chance, to claim back-to-back derby wins, with the draw priced at 13/5.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Sydney Stats

  • Four of the last five Sydney derbies have seen over 37.5 booking pts awarded
  • Both H2Hs this season have finished with 60 booking pts
  • Three of the last four meetings have seen both teams score in the first half

Booking Points Over/Under +37.5 - Over 37.5 @ 4/5

Six yellow cards, amounting to 60 booking points, were dished out in January's derby, the same as in the first fixture of the season at CommBank Stadium last November.

Four of the last five head-to-heads have cleared the Over 37.5 Booking Points line, so I think just under EVS is a great price this Saturday.

Today's Football Fixtures

There were 85 booking points recorded in the Wanderers' defeat at Melbourne City last weekend, and 40 between Brisbane Roar and Sydney in the Sky Blues' last contest, so both sides come into this contest on the back of big battles.

Both Teams to Score in First Half - Yes @ 5/2

This has been a winning bet in three of the last four Sydney derbies, including the Sky Blues' 4-1 success at Allianz Stadium in January, when Fraser's first-minute strike for the Wanderers was cancelled out nine minutes later by Victor Campuzano.

Sydney have struggled for goals in their last few games, scoring just once across their last three, but they should be encouraged this weekend by the defence in front of them, which has shipped 11 goals in the last four matches.

The Wanderers have struck at least twice in five of their last seven contests, though, so there are goals in this side, and they've scored in the first half of six of their last seven.
