Western Sydney Wanderers vs Melbourne City Prediction: WSW undone by young gun Younis

Western Sydney Wanderers, fresh off a 4-1 hammering in the Sydney derby last weekend, will be desperate to make amends in front of their own supporters at CommBank Stadium this Saturday (08:35 GMT, TNT Sports 1) when they take on Melbourne City, who are searching for their first away win since December 6.
Below are my Western Sydney Wanderers vs Melbourne City predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Gary van Egmond has a fully fit Western Sydney Wanderers squad to pick from, and changes to his starting XI could be in the offing following last Saturday's collapse at Allianz Stadium, where they took the lead in the opening minute thanks to Ryan Fraser's second ALM goal.
Aydan Hammond, Joshua Brillante and Steven Ugarkovic are among those eyeing promotions from the bench this weekend.
As for Melbourne City, head coach Aurelio Vidmar is also without five players, Andrew Nabbout (calf), Mathew Leckie (hip), Elbasan Rashani (hamstring), Takeshi Kanamori and Kavian Rahmani (both knee), due to injury.
However, Nathaniel Atkinson returns from suspension, while Daniel Arzani and Harrison Delbridge are both in line to make their club debuts - a second one, in the case of the former - at CommBank Stadium.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Melbourne City Stats
- Ex-WSW ace Younis (MCY) has scored in his first two apps since joining on loan
- MCY's last three games have seen both teams score
- WSW have only won one of the last nine H2Hs at CommBank (D3, L5)
Anytime Goalscorer - Marcus Younis (MCY) @ 12/5
Western Sydney Wanderers academy graduate Marcus Younis, who left the club last August for Danish side Brondby, returned to Australia earlier this month, joining Melbourne City on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The 20-year-old has had an immediate impact on last year's Grand Final champions, scoring on debut in City's 6-2 loss at Macarthur FC on January 24 before bagging again, once more as a substitute, in a 2-2 stalemate at Wellington Phoenix.
Now, the Australia U23 comes under serious consideration to make his full debut for Vidmar's side, and what better way to mark it than a goal against your old club?
At 12/5, Younis is a terrific price in the Anytime Goalscorer market, should he, as I expect, start on Saturday.

Double Chance & Both Teams To Score - Draw or Melbourne City & Yes @ 6/4
It's hard to back either to win outright on Saturday, with the Wanderers triumphing just twice in their last seven games (L5), and City securing the same number of successes in their last nine (D3, L4), but it's the visitors, five points ahead in the table, who I'm more confident in avoiding defeat.
City have lost on just one of their last nine league visits to CommBank Stadium, and Vidmar's side have suffered just two defeats on their ALM travels this season, winning twice and drawing four times.
The Wanderers, meanwhile, have failed to win five of their eight home games in 2025/26 (D2, L3).
Backing both teams to score could be wise, too, as the Wanderers have notched in three of their last four, with two of their last three seeing BTTS-Yes land, while it's been a winning bet in City's last three matches, and half (four) of their away trips.
