Three fixtures take place in the Australian A-League Men's on Saturday, and first up (06:00 GMT, TNT Sports 1), facing off at CommBank Stadium, are hosts Western Sydney Wanderers and Brisbane Roar. The visitors have lost just one of their first seven games this season (W4, D2) and sit six points clear of their next opponents, who suffered their third defeat of the campaign at Perth Glory (1-0) last weekend.

Below are my Western Sydney Wanderers vs Brisbane Roar predictions, alongside all the latest team news and match odds.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Brisbane Roar Betting Tips

  • Double Chance & Over/Under +2.5 Goals - Western Sydney Wanderers or Draw & Under 2.5 @ 5/4
  • Player to Receive a Card - Christopher Long (BRI) @ 13/5

Team News

Alex Gersbach missed Western Sydney Wanderers' loss at Perth Glory last Saturday with an unspecified injury, and he remains Alen Stajcic's only absentee heading into this weekend's game.

Football Odds

Brisbane Roar are still missing Milorad Stajic (leg), Ben Halloran (knee), Antonee Burke-Gilroy (foot), Marcus Ferkranus and Nathan Amanatidis (both quad) due to injury.

However, Hosine Bility, who has missed his side's last five games with a hamstring injury, could make his return to action on Saturday.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Brisbane Roar Predicted Lineups

  • Western Sydney Wanderers: Thomas; Cleur, Pantazopoulos, Bonetig, Simmons; Ugarkovic, Brillante, Thurgate, Kraev; Barbarouses, Kuol
  • Brisbane Roar: Bouzanis; Salas, Valkanis, Ludwik, Herrington, McGarry; Klein, O'Shea, Vrakas; Long, Vidic

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Brisbane Roar Odds

Western Sydney Wanderers, targeting a third straight win at home, are 19/20 to collect all three points on Saturday, implying a 51.3% probability of success, with Brisbane Roar 5/2, or a 28.6% chance, to claim back-to-back away victories, with the draw priced at 23/10.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Brisbane Roar Stats

  • WSW are unbeaten at home (W2, D1)
  • BRI have dropped points in two away games (W1, D1, L1)
  • Long (BRI) has received two yellows in five ALM apps

Double Chance & Over/Under +2.5 Goals - Western Sydney Wanderers or Draw & Under 2.5 @ 5/4

The Roar have been the surprise package of the season, starting gameweek eight in second, despite finishing second-bottom in 2024/25.

However, while they've only dropped two points in four home games (W3, D1), their away record is less impressive, with five points dropped from three (W1, D1, L1).

Valkanis' charges have scored five goals and kept four clean sheets at Suncorp Stadium, but on their travels, they have scored and conceded the same number (three), suffering a 2-1 defeat at Wellington Phoenix, drawing 1-1 at Auckland, and winning 1-0 at Adelaide United.

Today's Football Fixtures

The Wanderers have encountered similar problems, but to a greater extent.

At CommBank Stadium, Stajcic's side are unbeaten (W2, D1), netting five times and conceding three. Away from home, they are winless (D1, L3), notching just once and conceding five goals.

So, at CommBank this week, the Wanderers should be more confident of achieving a positive result, although they will be acutely aware of their poor home record against the Roar, who are unbeaten in their last five trips to this venue (W2, D3).

The Wanderers are a different side at home, so I'm backing them to maintain their unbeaten tag at CommBank, although I'm not willing to go all in on a win for the hosts given the Roar haven't lost any of their last five games (W3, D2) and are a tough team to get past.

Combining WSW on the Double Chance with Under 2.5 Goals may be the way to go here, with five of the Roar's seven games this season featuring two or fewer goals, and six of the Wanderers' going that way, too.

Player to Receive a Card - Christopher Long (BRI) @ 13/5

After failing to score in his first four appearances for the Roar, Christopher Long properly announced himself to the A-League last week, coming off the bench to net a 90+5-minute winner in Adelaide.

The 30-year-old picked up his second yellow card of the season in the process - his first was on debut against Macarthur on October 17 - after taking his shirt off in celebration.

Long looks like a forward who's not afraid to put himself about, committing a foul in three of his five games (three starts) for the Roar so far, and I'm expecting a physical battle to develop between him and Wanderers defender Anthony Pantazopoulos at CommBank Stadium.
