Sydney football stadium allianz

Sydney FC and Auckland FC have already faced off once this month, with the latter triumphing 1-0 at their Go Media Stadium on February 7, but the two clubs renew acquaintances on Tuesday (08:00 GMT, TNT Sports 3) at Allianz Stadium, where the Sky Blues were beaten 2-1 by Adelaide United last Saturday.

Below are my Sydney vs Auckland predictions, alongside all the latest team news and match odds ahead of this midweek Australian A-League Men’s meeting.

Team News

Gus Hoefsloot (wrist) and Abel Walatee (groin) are injured for Ufuk Talay's Sydney side, but Al Hassan Toure is back fit, while Pat Wood is in the extended squad, too.

Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and Ahmet Arslan, who both made their Sky Blues debuts as second-half substitutes last weekend, could earn their first starts here.

Football Odds

Goalkeeper Oli Sail, who recently underwent knee surgery, is Auckland's only absentee on Tuesday.

Head coach Steve Corica, a former player and manager at Sydney, could name an unchanged starting XI from the one that beat the Sky Blues less than two weeks ago.

Lachlan Brook was taken off in the 42nd minute of that game, but the 25-year-old has been named in the extended squad for this trip to Allianz Stadium.

Sydney vs Auckland Predicted Lineups

  • Sydney: Devenish-Meares; R. Grant, Tisserand, A. Grant, Garuccio; Arslan, Okon-Engstler; Lolley, Quintal, Quispe; Stamatelopoulos
  • Auckland: Woud; Sakai, Hall, Girdwood-Reich, De Vries; Verstraete, Gallegos; Brook, Francois, Randall; Cosgrove

Sydney vs Auckland Odds

Sydney, yet to beat Auckland after four attempts, are 8/5 to break their duck on Tuesday, implying a 38.5% probability of success, while the Black Knights are 6/4, or a 40% chance to do the double.

Last season's corresponding fixture finished 2-2 last April, and another Sydney stalemate is priced at 11/5.

Both Teams to Score, Both Teams 4+ Corners & Both Teams 2+ Cards, which was a winning bet when these two sides met at Allianz Stadium in 2024/25, has been boosted from 11/2 to 13/2.

Sydney vs Auckland Stats

  • AKL are unbeaten in all four H2Hs (W2, D2)
  • SYD have lost four of their last five games
  • Last season's corresponding fixture produced 60 booking pts (30 for each team)

Draw No Bet - Auckland @ 4/5

I’ll back the Black Knights here, but I want some insurance, so Auckland in the Draw No Bet market makes the most sense.

The New Zealanders are yet to lose to the Sky Blues, winning both games at home 1-0, drawing 2-2 in the league at Allianz Stadium  last season, before winning there on penalties last August after a 1-1 draw in the Australia Cup.

Today's Football Fixtures

Sydney are also on a horrific run of form, losing four of their last five games, and failing to score in three of them.

However, Auckland have only won one of their four away matches in 2026 (D1, L2), losing their last two.

Booking Points Over/Under +42.5 - Over 42.5 @ 13/8

I successfully backed Auckland midfielder Louis Verstraete to be booked at 11/4 in the reverse fixture earlier this month, but this time around, I'm spreading the love around.

Three of the four previous head-to-heads, including the Black Knights' 1-0 win at Go Media Stadium this month, have seen exactly four yellows, and therefore 40 booking points, awarded in regulation time. The outlier was last season's corresponding fixture in Sydney, when the two sides were shown three yellows apiece, totalling 60 booking points.

Three of Sydney's last five games have seen the over 42.5 booking points line land, including two of their three at home this calendar year.

Auckland, meanwhile, have been shown the joint-most red cards (two) and average the second-most fouls per game (11.56).
