Australian A-League Men's leaders Newcastle Jets have faltered in the last month, losing two of their last three games (W1), yet Mark Milligan's side are three points clear at the top with three rounds of fixtures remaining. This Saturday (08:00 BST, TNT Sports 3), the Jets host third-placed Adelaide United, who drew for the fourth time in their last five games (W1) last weekend, at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Below are my Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United predictions, alongside all the latest team news and match odds.

Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United Betting Tips

Team News

Joe Shaughnessy (knee) and Thomas Aquilina (hamstring) have joined Alexander Badolato, Christian Bracco and Oscar Fryer (all ACL) in the Newcastle Jets treatment room, but eight-goal winger Clayton Taylor is back after two games out injured, while Max Cooper could feature for the first time since New Year's Day, when he was sent off in a 3-1 victory at Auckland FC.

Football Odds

As for Airton Andrioli's Adelaide United, Craig Goodwin (groin), Jake Najdovski and Dylan Pierias (both knee) remain sidelined.

Newcastle Jets vs Adelaide United Odds

Match Result & Both Teams to Score - Newcastle Jets & Yes @ 9/5

Newcastle and Adelaide are the two highest-scoring sides in this season's ALM, netting 48 and 40 times, respectively, while neither have been miserly in defence, conceding 36 and 33 goals, respectively.

Unsurprisingly, United and the Jets top the 'Both Teams to Score' standings, with the former (78%) pipping the latter (74%) to first place.

Both teams to score has been a winning selection in Newcastle's last four games, and Adelaide's last five.

It's also been a winning bet in the last three meetings between the two clubs, with both won 2-1 - home and away - by the Jets last year, before Milligan's side claimed another victory, this time by a 3-2 scoreline, at Coopers Stadium in February.

Today's Football Fixtures

The Jets aren't in great form, having lost two of their last three matches (W1), but both defeats were by a single strike, and they'll be confident of returning to winning ways on Saturday against a side that have triumphed just once in their last five, drawing the other four.

The league leaders have the upper hand on the Reds, having won the last three head-to-heads, and with the Premier's Plate in touching distance, I think they'll be highly motivated to claim all three points on Saturday, although they'll be made to work for their victory by the top-two chasing Reds.

Last Goalscorer - Clayton Taylor (NEW) @ 11/2

I don't expect Taylor, who has missed Newcastle's last two games through injury, to start on Saturday, which makes him an attractive option in the 'Last Goalscorer' market at 11/2 with Betfred.

The 22-year-old scored seven league goals in each of his first two seasons with the Jets, but he's taken his game to new heights in 2025/26, netting eight times in just 18 appearances.

Three of those strikes came in February's 3-2 win over Adelaide at Coopers, and he was on target in his previous outing against the Reds, grabbing the winner in a 2-1 victory at the same venue in February last year.

Taylor looks to have United's number, and if he gets on the pitch this weekend, he'll fancy his chances of extending his scoring streak against them.
