After drawing their respective Australian A-League Men's openers last weekend, both Auckland FC and Western Sydney Wanderers will be eyeing their first wins of the 2025/26 campaign on Saturday (05:00 BST, TNT Sports 1), when they meet at Go Media Stadium in New Zealand.

After landing a 5/1 winner in my Wanderers preview last week, and a 10/11 winner in my Auckland one, I'm hoping for more success here, in my Auckland vs Western Sydney Wanderers predictions, complete with all the latest team news and match odds.

Auckland vs Western Sydney Wanderers Betting Tips

  • Total Goals - Under 2.5 @ 1/1
  • Corners Over/Under - Under 10.5 @ 4/5

*Odds correct as of the time of publication

Team News

Nando Pijnaker and Felipe Gallegos (both unspecified) are still out injured for Auckland, who have included Adama Coulibaly and Finn McKenlay in their extended squad.

Football Odds

Jordan Holmes (illness) misses out for Western Sydney Wanderers, who don't have any injury concerns.

Auckland vs Western Sydney Wanderers Predicted Lineups

  • Auckland: Woud; Sakai, Hall, Girdwood-Reich, De Vries; Brook, Verstraete, Brimmer, Francois; Randall, Cosgrove
  • Western Sydney Wanderers: Thomas; Cleur, Pantazopoulos, Bonetig, Gersbach; Thurgate, Brillante, Ugarkovic, Kraev; Borrello, Barbarouses

Auckland vs Western Sydney Wanderers Odds

Auckland are 8/11 to win, implying a 57.9% probability of success, the Wanderers are 3/1, or a 25% chance, to claim all three points, and the draw is priced at 5/2.

Auckland vs Western Sydney Wanderers Stats

  • Under 2.5 goals landed in both sides' ALM openers last week
  • First H2H last season finished AKL 1-0, second was a 1-1 draw
  • Under 9.5 corners was a winning selection in both H2Hs

Total Goals - Under 2.5 @ 1/1

Only Melbourne City (62%) saw a higher percentage of their 2024/25 ALM contests finish with under 2.5 goals than Auckland (57%), who landed us a 10/11 under 2.5 goals winner last weekend as they held Melbourne Victory to a 0-0 draw at AAMI Park.

The Wanderers were also involved in a low-scoring ALM opener, but there were at least two goals in theirs as they drew 1-1 with Melbourne City at CommBank Stadium.

Today's Football Fixtures

Last season, Auckland beat the Wanderers in their first-ever meeting, securing a 1-0 win at CommBank Stadium in January, before they were held to a 1-1 draw by Alen Stajcic's side at Go Media Stadium in April.

Will we see a third head-to-head with under 2.5 goals on Saturday? At EVS, I think it's worth backing, considering the Black Knights' strong defensive record, in particular.

Auckland vs Western Sydney Wanderers - Total Goals
Under 2.5

Corners Over/Under - Under 10.5 @ 4/5

A measly two corners - both for the Black Knights - were awarded in Auckland's goalless draw with Victory last weekend, while the Wanderers only took 20% (two) of the 10 recorded in their stalemate with Melbourne City.

Both meetings between Auckland and the Wanderers last season finished with nine or fewer corners taken, with nine awarded in Australia and eight in New Zealand.

Auckland vs Western Sydney Wanderers - Corner Over/Under
