Adelaide United vs Western Sydney Wanderers Odds
Adelaide are 23/20 to bounce back with a win on Friday, implying a 46.5% probability of success, while Western Sydney Wanderers are 7/4, or a 36.4% chance, to claim their first victory of the 2025/26 campaign.
The draw is priced at 13/5, both teams to score at 4/11, and over 3.5 total goals at 1/1.
Adelaide United vs Western Sydney Wanderers Stats
- Over 32.5 booking pts have been recorded in six of the last eight H2Hs
- Two of WSW's three league games this term have finished with 40+ booking pts
- Five goals were scored in last season's corresponding fixture (seven in Sydney)
Booking Points Over/Under +32.5 - Over 32.5 @ 5/6
Adelaide and the Wanderers only picked up a yellow card apiece in their last meeting, a 3-2 victory for the latter at Coopers Stadium last December.
However, there were five yellows - 50 booking points - dished out in November’s reverse fixture at CommBank Stadium as the Reds ran out 4-3 winners, and in an Australia Cup tie two months prior, four cautions - 40 booking points - were produced in regulation time, and another one (10 booking points) in extra time.
In fact, there have been over 32.5 booking points recorded in six of the last eight head-to-heads, with half (four) of those games seeing a red card.
Adelaide’s last two matches against Macarthur and Auckland have produced 40 and 30 booking points, respectively, while two of the Wanderers’ three league games this term have finished with 40+.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Total Goals - Over 3.5 @ 1/1
Both league meetings last season saw plenty of goals, with seven struck in Sydney and five in Adelaide.
United, the ALM’s third-highest scorers last season behind the Wanderers (58) and Western United (55), have seen exactly three goals struck in all three games this term, so they’ve been very close to over 3.5 goals landing in each.
The Wanderers have been involved in three low-scoring games, with a 1-0 defeat at Auckland sandwiched between 1-1 draws with Melbourne City and Macarthur FC.
However, two of those matches were against last season's top two, Auckland and Melbourne City, who also boasted the two best defensive records in 2024/25.
Without a win so far, the Wanderers will be going for goals here, likewise Adelaide, who will be keen to get back on track after back-to-back defeats, so I'm predicting at least four strikes on Friday.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
