Augsburg vs Stuttgart Prediction: Visitors to continue their stunning season

Augsburg play host to VfB Stuttgart at the WWK ARENA in the Bundesliga on Friday night (Sky Sports Football YouTube, 20:00), with the visitors still in a good position to finish second in the table. They head into this clash having won three of their last five and will be confident of getting another result.

Team News

Augsburg's Raphael Framberger, Robert Gumny, Elvis Rexhbecaj and Fredrik Jensen all remain out of action due to injury, while Iago is doubtful with a foot issue. Reece Oxford will also need to be assessed ahead of kick-off having recently been out with illness.

Stuttgart will be without the injured Nikolas Nartey, Josha Vagnoman, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Samuele di Benedetto, while Roberto Massimo, who has not featured since the end of January, will be checked ahead of the weekend.

Seeing as Stuttgart don't offer much value to win the game at 5/6, I've had to look for value elsewhere. I really like the look of backing them with a -1 handicap at 2/1 because they should be able to outscore the hosts with ease.

The visitors have scored 73 goals in 32 matches this season and only Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig have scored more. With their two strikers, Guirassy and Deniz Undav, who have provided 43 (58%) of those goals themselves, there is more than enough firepower for Stuttgart to add to their tally before the season is out.

With Augsburg also having lost three games on the spin, I feel as though this could be a free hit for Stuttgart and after beating Bayern Munich 3-1 last time out, their confidence will be sky high.

Deniz Undav anytime goalscorer @ 21/20

Stuttgart have been blessed for goals this year and while Guirassy has taken most of the limelight, Undav's contributions cannot be overlooked. The Brighton & Hove Albion loanee has provided 18 goals so far and five of them have come in his last six appearances.

He, like his club, is ending the campaign strongly and I believe there are more goals for him to be had in the last couple of weeks. Augsburg will know all too well the threat he poses after he registered a goal and an assist in the reverse fixture back in December.

With that in mind, I feel pretty confident that he will haunt them once again and notch his 19th goal of the season.
