It all comes down to Tuesday (20:00 BST, DAZN) for Boca Juniors as the Argentines fight to stay in the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup. Ahead of Group C's final round of fixtures, Boca are third, three points behind second-place Benfica, who face off simultaneously against leaders Bayern Munich. Boca need a big win against New Zealand minnows Auckland City at Geodis Park while relying on Bayern to do them a favour at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Below are my Auckland City vs Boca Juniors Bet Builder Tips ahead of this crucial contest in Nashville, Tennessee, where I have picked out an 8/1 four-fold.

Auckland City vs Boca Juniors Bet Builder Tips

  • Total Shots - Over 35.5
  • Luis Advincula (BOC) Total Shots - 2+
  • Boca Juniors Total Shots on Target - Over 13.5
  • Carlos Alonso Enrique Palacios Nunez (BOC) Total Shots on Target - 2+

Total Shots - Over 35.5

Auckland's opening match at this year's Club World Cup, the record 10-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on June 15, saw 32 shots taken at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, with the German giants responsible for 31 of them.

In Auckland's second group game, at Exploria Stadium in Orlando on June 20, 36 shots were recorded - 32 for Benfica and four for the Navy Blues - as they lost 6-0 to the Portuguese powerhouse.

Next up for the part-timers are Boca Juniors, whose first two Group C contests, a 2-2 draw with Benfica at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on June 16, and a 2-1 defeat to Bayern at the same venue five days later, both produced exactly 17 shots.

Today's Football Fixtures

I'm expecting the Argentine side to see more than double that amount on Tuesday, though, as they look to overturn a goal difference deficit of seven goals on Benfica. Currently, the Aguias are three points ahead of Boca, and on a +6 goal difference compared to Xeneizes' -1.

Should Benfica beat Bayern or avoid defeat in their final group game, whatever Boca produce against Auckland will be in vain. But if they lose, as they are expected to, the race is on for Boca to overtake them in the goal difference charts, so Miguel Angel Russo's charges should be going all out for a huge win in Nashville.

As a result, we can expect the Buenos Aires-based club to take plenty of shots at Geodis Park, while Auckland will be dreaming of a first goal at this year's tournament, and will be encouraged by the four efforts they managed against Benfica, half of which went on target.

FC Porto's final Group A game against Al Ahly in the early hours of Tuesday (UK time) saw 40 shots recorded as the sides played out a 4-4 classic, and I can see a similar number of attempts in this Group C concluder between Auckland and Boca, the majority in favour of the latter, of course.

Luis Advincula (BOC) Total Shots - 2+

Boca's right-back, Luis Advincula, started and completed his side's draw with Benfica and their defeat to Bayern, recording exactly one shot in both games. He saw a long-range effort with his right foot blocked in the 67th minute against the former, before a left-footed attempt from just outside the area missed the target against the latter.

The 35-year-old is expected to start again on Tuesday and should play the majority, if not all, of the match, and considering the record of Auckland's opponents so far, there's a good chance he doubles his shot tally in Nashville.

Five of Bayern's outfield starters against the Northern League outfit, including right-back Sacha Boey, took 2+ shots in their big win, and the Frenchman scored with one of his three attempts. Three of the 2024/25 Bundesliga champions' substitutes took at least two shots, too, making it eight out of 15 in total.

Auckland City vs Boca Juniors Odds

Benfica, meanwhile, saw seven of their outfield starters record a minimum of a couple of shots, and two of their six additions from the bench, making it nine out of 16 overall. Their right-back, Fredrik Aursnes, let fly once, in the 11th minute.

Given Boca's desperation for goals against Auckland on Tuesday, I'm expecting efforts from everywhere, and Advincula trying his luck at least twice is a real possibility.

Auckland City vs Boca Juniors Bet Builder Stats

  • 36 shots were recorded in Auckland's 6-0 defeat to Benfica
  • Bayern Munich right-back Sacha Boey shot three times (scored once) in 10-0 victory over Auckland
  • Boca Juniors right-back Luis Advincula has shot once in both Group C games so far
  • Auckland have conceded 16+ shots on target in both CWC matches this month

Boca Juniors Total Shots on Target - Over 13.5

Boca only registered two shots on target against Benfica and three against Bayern in their first two group games, but I have every confidence that they can increase their numbers significantly against Auckland, who have shipped 16 goals in their first two Club World Cup contests this year.

Bayern put 10 past the Navy Blue and saw a further seven shots saved, recording 17 shots on target in total, while Benfica scored six and forced 10 saves from Nathan Garrow, falling just one shot on target short of Vincent Kompany's side.

Football Odds

Boca will probably need to beat Auckland by at least six goals on Tuesday, assuming Benfica don't suffer a pasting by Bayern, so I'm expecting shots aplenty by the Argentines, who will be hoping the majority go on target to give themselves a chance of a big win.

Carlos Alonso Enrique Palacios Nunez (BOC) Total Shots on Target - 2+

Carlos Palacios saw a long-range effort blocked in Boca's stalemate with Benfica before failing to muster an attempt in defeat to Bayern, but against Auckland, he should be trying his luck from all angles, and I think he looks good for 2+ shots on target.

Bayern's three attacking midfielders behind Harry Kane in their starting XI against Auckland, Michael Olise, Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman, all bagged a brace, as did Jamal Musiala, who came off the bench in the 61st minute. Meanwhile, Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry both came on at the start of the second half and each saw two shots saved by Conor Tracey, ensuring all six of Bayern's attacking midfielders in that win registered 2+ shots on target.

Benfica also had six of their players record 2+ shots on target, including five of their front six.

Chile international Palacios established a reputation as a goalscoring midfielder for Colo Colo in his homeland, netting 26 times in 77 appearances before sealing a big move to Boca, and while he's yet to reach his previous heights, he has struck three goals in 15 league outings (13 starts) for Xeneize.
