Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Prediction: Gunners to build momentum for PSG

There's more midweek Premier League action on Wednesday (20:00, Sky Sports Main Event) as Arsenal host Crystal Palace at the Emirates. The Gunners turned in a comfortable 4-0 victory at Ipswich Town on Sunday, and they will look to build on this against the Eagles.
Palace were held to a goalless draw with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday and they are now without a goal in their past two matches in the league. Read on for my Arsenal vs Crystal Palace predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta may opt to rest Bukayo Saka here after the winger felt the effects of Leif Davis' red card challenge on Sunday, which led to the England international coming off early in the second half.
He was replaced by teenager Ethan Nwaneri, who would most likely benefit from such a decision if Arteta makes it. The Gunners are still missing Kai Havertz, Gabriel Magalhaes (hamstring), Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu (both knee) and Jorginho (chest) due to injury - with the former four out for the season.
Riccardo Calafiori has a knee problem of his own but he is expected to recover in time to feature in Arsenal's Uefa Champions League semi-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
Jurrien Timber, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Thomas Partey are other players who might be rotated back into the XI on Wednesday.
Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Stats
- Arsenal have lost just one league game at the Emirates this season
- Three of Arsenal's past six PL wins over Palace have been to nil
Palace head to north London without Chris Richards, who was sent off at the weekend against Bournemouth. Oliver Glasner is short of a like-for-like replacement at the moment so we could see Nathaniel Clyne drop into the back three here.
Jefferson Lerma is another who could fill in if needed, but he may be kept in midfield as Adam Wharton is being managed carefully as he builds up his fitness.
Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad (both knee) are out for the rest of the campaign.
Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Odds
Arsenal have won three of their previous five league encounters at the Emirates and they are the 2/5 favourites here. Backing the Gunners to win to nil looks a more attractive bet at 11/10 (which has an implied probability of 47.6%) because they won their last match without conceding, while Palace are on a two-game barren run in front of goal.
The hosts have drawn four of their past seven fixtures in the Premier League and the stalemate is marketed at 18/5.
Crystal Palace are 15/2 to come away with the three points, which is likely down to them being winless in their three latest away trips in the top flight.
Arsenal's Leandro Trossard bagged a brace against Ipswich on Sunday and he is 15/8 to score anytime against the Eagles.
Arsenal to win to nil @ 11/10
Arsenal have had their problems this season, which has cost them a decent shot at a first Premier League title in 20 years. The season Liverpool have had arguably should've been theirs.
With Manchester City crumbling this year it seemed like the Gunners' patience would pay off - but it wasn't to be. Key injuries to players, coupled with a severe lack of quality in depth made it extremely difficult for Arsenal to challenge, and Arteta looks to be in need of great help in the summer transfer window.
However, he and his players have still done remarkably well to keep themselves inside the top two and they will look to finish the campaign strongly. Their main focus is on the last-four of the Champions League, but they want to end the league season with some momentum they can use to aid them in 2025/26.
They didn't need to get out of second gear at Ipswich and still racked up four goals. Palace are currently on a bit of a slide, and they have a much bigger game to deal with on Saturday as they face Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.
Neither Arsenal nor Palace have much to gain from this clash other than momentum for their respective semi-final ties, and so both will be looking for strong performances, even if there is rotation.
I have to give Arsenal the edge because they have lost just once here in the league this term and they are in much better shape than their opponents. Their defence wasn't troubled at the weekend and it could be the same here as the Eagles are two games without a goal.

Jefferson Lerma to be carded @ 15/8
There has been a fair bit of frustration going around the Palace squad in recent games as they are without a win in their previous three. It's been shown by some of the discipline records in that time.
Midfield battler Lerma is a prime example as he has been booked for three consecutive matches, taking his total for the campaign to eight in the Premier League. He's going to be up against an Arsenal team full of confidence, particularly in the middle of the park, so he has a tough battle ahead of him.
He has shown that he doesn't keep a cool head when things aren't going smoothly, so I think he's worth backing to receive a yellow card on Wednesday. The traders are clearly of the same opinion as he is the favourite to go into the book.
