Last week's boosted goalscorer treble was so close as just one player failed to find the back of the net. It feels like we are not far away from a clean sweep and this weekend gives us another opportunity to make that a reality.

With selections from League 1 and Fifa World Cup qualifiers, check out my Anytime Goalscorer Tips below, which this week is a boosted four-fold.

Anytime Goalscorer Tips - Saturday, September 6

  • Alfie May - Huddersfield Town vs Peterborough United @ 19/20
  • Owen Bailey - Doncaster Rovers vs Bradford City @ 10/3
  • Kyle Wootton - Plymouth Argyle vs Stockport County @ 6/4
  • Harry Kane - England vs Andorra @ 1/4

Alfie May - Huddersfield Town vs Peterborough United @ 19/20

A year after believing they had signed him, Huddersfield Town finally got their man this summer as Alfie May joined from Birmingham City, whom he helped win League 1 last season.

The striker is now a Terrier and while he has not been as in red-hot form as he was this time last year, he is already up and running for his new side. May has two goals in six League 1 appearances this term. He is one of the best goalscorers at this level and I have no doubt that we will see him score more frequently as the campaign goes on.

Huddersfield host bottom-of-the-table Peterborough United on Saturday, and this gives May the perfect opportunity to add to his tally. Posh have the second-worst defensive record in the division, conceding 11 goals to date.

May has an impressive record against the Boro, scoring five times in 12 appearances, including one for Birmingham last term. I think he could be a thorn in Darren Ferguson's side once again.

Owen Bailey - Doncaster Rovers vs Bradford City @ 10/3

Doncaster Rovers have started the season brilliantly following their promotion from League 2 in 2024/25. Grant McCann's side sit fourth in the standings, having won four of their opening six matches.

Midfielder Owen Bailey has played a key role for his team, having contributed four goals already in the third tier, the joint-second-highest in the division. The 26-year-old has struck in Doncaster's previous two outings in League 1 and I fancy this trend to continue against fellow promoted side Bradford City, who have also started the season well (third).

Kyle Wootton - Plymouth Argyle vs Stockport County @ 6/4

Following their relegation from the Championship last season, Plymouth Argyle have not adjusted well to being back in League 1. They currently lie in the relegation zone, having lost five of their six matches to date.

The Pilgrims also have the joint-worst defensive record in the division, conceding 13 goals thus far. They welcome Stockport County to Home Park on Saturday and I think their poor form can play into the hands of striker Kyle Wootton, who already has two goals to his name this campaign.

Plymouth look chaotic defensively and Wootton's physical presence is likely to cause them more problems at the weekend.

Harry Kane - England vs Andorra @ 1/4

Villa Park is where I round off my selections as England face Andorra in a World Cup qualifier. The Three Lions are top of their group having amassed a maximum number of points from their opening three fixtures.

Captain Harry Kane is likely to feature in this clash and I think he is the obvious candidate for picking a goalscorer in this contest. The striker is England's all-time leading goalscorer with 73.

The Bayern Munich star has started his club campaign well with three goals in two Bundesliga outings, while he has found the net in each of his previous five appearances for his country - including in the reverse fixture against Andorra in June.
