Almeria might be rock bottom of the La Liga table but their last two performances should give them hope of getting something from Friday night’s clash with Alaves at Power Horse Stadium.

Drawing with shock title challengers Girona, before almost claiming an impressive draw at Real Madrid the following week, Almeria are showing resilience in their bid to avoid the drop.

Alaves have been in positive form but their consistency on the road means it’s hard to trust Los Blanquiazules to get the job done on Friday night.

Almeria vs Alaves Tips

  • Draw @ 11/5
  • #PickYourPunt - Under 2.5 goals & under 9.5 corners @ 2/1

Match Odds

There is very little to choose from between these sides in the match result market, with hosts Almeria at 13/8 to claim what would be their very first win in La Liga this season.

Alaves are 7/4 to head back to the Basque Country with the three points, while the stalemate on Friday night is available at 11/5.

Team News

Starting with the hosts, Arnau Puigmal and Ibrahima Kone are both injured and will play no part in Friday’s proceedings.

A goalscorer at the Santiago Bernabeu last time out in 3-2 defeat to Los Blancos, Largie Ramazani will also be absent due to suspension.

Almeria will also have to cope without Iddrisu Baba, Houboulang Mendes and Marciano Sanca, as they are currently away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

In more positive news for the hosts, attacker Leo Baptistao is back from suspension, while Luis Suarez is pushing for a start following his recovery from a broken leg.

As for the visitors, Alaves boss Luis Garcia will be without Abdel Abqar and Jesus Owono, with the pair also at AFCON.

Aleksandar Sedlar remains a long-term absentee, so Garcia is likely to opt for the same side that took the field against Cadiz last time out.

Draw @ 11/5

While Almeria have been searching for that elusive first win, they have become draw specialists in recent weeks at home.

All of their last three home games in La Liga have finished in goalless draws and a 0-0 scoreline is available at 8/1 in the correct score market.

The more conservative option is to go with a draw in the match result market.

#PickYourPunt - Under 2.5 goals & under 9.5 corners @ 2/1

There was little to choose from between these sides when they met at Alaves earlier this season, with the hosts winning 1-0 thanks to a goal in the 79th minute from the now-injured Sedlar.

Don’t expect a high-scoring affair at Power Horse Stadium in this one, especially considering Almeria’s recent results on home soil.

Going under 2.5 total goals forms the first part of this #PickYourPunt selection, with under 9.5 total corners the second.

In what looks set to be a cagey affair, chances and therefore corners might well be at a premium.

Almeria average 4.7 corners a game in La Liga this season, while Alaves average 4.4.

With that in mind, under 9.5 corners and under three goals in this clash offers good value.
