Al Ahli vs Al Fateh Prediction: Toney to make his mark once again

Al Ahil has only four league matches to close a 10-point lead on Saudi top-flight leaders Al Nassr, and the Royals will also need to outperform second-placed Al Hilal. Al Nassr were beaten at Al Qadsiah last time out, which gives the chasing pack hope, but Al Ahli may have left themselves a little too much work to do.
Al Fateh are safe from relegation danger and the Role Model will hope to progress from Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Neom. Below are my Al Ahli vs Al Fateh predictions, alongside team news and match odds.

Team News
Al Ahli are sweating on the fitness of Roger Ibanez, who was substituted at half-time in the Royals’ 4-0 win over Al Okhdood on Sunday. Wenderson Galeno is out for the season.
Ivan Toney and Riyad Mahrez both missed last weekend’s comfortable success, but they are expected to return at the expense of Firas Al-Buraikan and Matheus Goncalves.
Young midfielder Abdul Aziz Al-Fawaz is missing for the visitors.
Al Ahli vs Al Fateh Predicted Lineups
- Al Ahli: Mendy; Majrashi, Ibanez, Hamed, Hawsawi; Kessie, Atangana, Millot; Mahrez, Toney, Saleh
- Al Fateh: Pacheco; Baattiah, Aljari, Fernandes, Qasheesh; Saadane, Bendebka, Youssouf; Batna, Vargas, Al-Zubaidi
Al Ahli are red-hot 1/3 favourites at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium, with Al Fateh 6/1 and the draw a 4/1 chance. Both teams to score is 8/11 and over 3.5 goals can be backed at 5/4.
Al Nassr vs Al Ahli Stats
- AHL have scored 59 goals in their 30 league matches this term
- FAT have conceded 51 goals in 30 league games
- Toney (AHL) has scored 27 goals in 28 SPL apps
Over 3.5 goals @ 5/4
It’s highly unlikely that Al Ahli will catch Al Nassr at the top of the Saudi Pro League, but the Royals should deliver an entertaining contest against Al Fateh.
Matthias Jaissle’s men are fresh from a 4-0 hammering of Al Okhdood, where the Jeddah men hit 18 shots on goal.
That made it five wins in six matches for Al Ahli, who have lost only three of 30 Saudi top-flight games this term.
The Royals have scored 59 goals in their 30 league matches this term, while Al-Fateh have shipped 51 strikes.
The Role Model did hit 22 shots and put up an expected goals figure of 2.55 in a 2-2 home draw with Neom at the weekend and they will carry some attacking threat.
However, it’s tricky to see how Jose Gomes’ men can keep the likes of Toney and Mahrez quiet, and with Al Ahli knowing only three points will do to keep their slim title hopes alive, over 3.5 goals rates a bet at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium.

Ivan Toney to score first @ 2/1
Ivan Toney is a class above Saudi Pro League defences and Al Fateh’s rearguard has allowed 51 goals in their 30 league games this term.
The England forward has 27 goals in 28 Saudi top-flight appearances this season and the 30-year-old has been prolific in a division lacking strength in depth.
The former Brentford forward is averaging 2.94 shots and 1.58 shots on target per 90 minutes in the Saudi top flight this season and Toney will be on penalty-taking duty at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium.
The 30-year-old was left out of the squad for the weekend’s 4-0 crushing of Al Okhdood, but he should return to open the scoring against Al Fateh.
