AFC Wimbledon vs Accrington Stanley Prediction: 5/1 price boost for home win

Due to their pitch issues earlier in the season, AFC Wimbledon are playing catch up in terms of fixtures. They return to action on Tuesday night as they host Accrington Stanley at the Cherry Red Records Stadium (19:45) looking to climb up into the play-off picture.
Below you can find my AFC Wimbledon vs Accrington Stanley predictions featuring team news and betting tips.
AFC Wimbledon vs Accrington Stanley Betting Tips
Team News
Johnnie Jackson saw his side get a historic FA Cup win away at MK Dons earlier this month, and last time out they secured another decent away win at Barrow, coming away 3-1 victors on Saturday. Mathew Stevens has been a wonderful signing since joining from Forest Green Rovers this summer, and he’s scored 10 in 19 appearances.
He will hope to add to that here, alongside his strike partner Joe Pigott in a 3-5-2. Callum Maycock is another summer signing who has settled quickly in midfield, with the former Coventry City youngster joining from Solihull Moors, while Crystal Palace loanee Owen Goodman is set to start again in goal.
Accrington are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions and saw two of their centre-backs score in the 2-2 draw with Swindon last time out. Farrend Rawson and Manchester United loanee Sonny Aljofree found the net and set pieces will be key once again, as John Doolan looks to carry his side away from the relegation zone.
Tyler Walton and Josh Woods may start up front again with Dara Costelloe the team’s top scorer with four goals to his name in all competitions. Jimmy Knowles is also in contention to come into the team if Dolan looks to make a change.
AFC Wimbledon vs Accrington Stanley Odds
AFC Wimbledon are priced at 3/5 to win this game, which gives them an implied win probability of 63%. Accrington Stanley can be backed at 4/1 and a draw is 13/5, while over 2.5 goals is 10/11. BTTS is 10/11, while Mathew Stevens is the favourite to score first at 4/1.
Mathew Stevens to score @ 11/8
I’ve already given him a mention, but my first selection is Stevens to score anytime. He bagged twice last time out against Barrow to take his league total to seven in 13 matches so far, which gives him a goals per 90 total of 0.77.
Accrington have been pretty poor defensively so far this season, conceding 24 goals in 15 outings. Although they have improved of late they did concede twice last time out against another side who operate with a three at the back in the form of Swindon. Always happy to back Stevens to score, especially on home soil.

Price Boost: AFC Wimbledon to win, BTTS, Stevens to score @ 5/1
Betfred have offered up a price boost for us for this game, and it is one I want to take advantage of. I think the home side have what it takes to win this game, despite Accrington’s recent up-turn in form. Stanley may have what it takes to find the net, given they played out a 2-2 draw last time out while both teams also scored in the Dons last outing.
There’s goals to be had in this game, while this offer that includes Stevens to score at any time has been price boosted from 4/1 to 5/1. In my eyes that offers excellent value and that is ultimately what we are always on the lookout for when writing these previews. AFCW will put themselves in the play-off picture with another three points here, and I think they should get it against an Accrington side who should keep away from danger.
