Wimbledon is a name associated with the FA Cup regardless of their various travails over the last couple of decades and they will fancy their chances of reaching the third round proper when they host non-league Ramsgate on Monday.

The Rams beat National League Woking to reach this stage and this is the furthest the Kent club have ever made it in this competition.

They will be hoping for some classic 'Magic of the Cup' at the Cherry Red Records Stadium but it looks unlikely against the Dons, who have excelled at home.

Last season saw Johnnie Jackson's side flirt with relegation from League Two but they look a far steadier outfit this time around and seem well set to book their spot in the third round at home to Ipswich.

AFC Wimbledon vs Ramsgate Tips

  • Wimbledon to win & over 3.5 total goals @ 7/5
  • Joe Lewis to score anytime @ SP

Match Odds

Wimbledon are just 1/6 to win on Monday, with the visitors 12/1 to cause an upset - while the draw is a 6/1 shot.

Over 3.5 Goals in the game is 6/5, while a 2-0 home win, the outcome the last time these sides met in London in August 2007, is available at 5/1.

Team News

Wimbledon were last seen losing 1-0 at Gillingham but Jackson was pleased with the performance and hinted that most of his starting XI will retain their positions.

Ramsgate drew 1-1 at Cray Valley PM in their last game. Joe Taylor, who has netted nine times in this season's competition, failed to score but is again likely to lead the line.

Wimbledon to win & over 3.5 total goals @ 7/5

Ramsgate have excelled this season, taking 31 from a possible 35 points and lead the Isthmian League South East Division despite playing three fewer games than second- placed Three Bridges.

They beat Woking in the first round proper, having come through a preliminary round and four qualifiers to reach the main draw and will be desperate to take their chance, with this the further the Kent club has ever been in the FA Cup.

Wimbledon have enjoyed some decent cup runs in recent years, most recently making the third round in 2021-22.

Jackson's team have won their last four games in all competitions at Plough Lane, which includes beating Notts County 4-2 on November 25.

A similar scoreline, with 4-2 available at 40/1 as the Correct Score, might be one to watch out for but a home win looks the most likely outcome and it could come with plenty of goals.

Joe Lewis to score anytime @ SP

Included among the scorers could be Wimbledon defender Joe Lewis, who averages 5.2 aerial duels won per game in the league and whose only goal this season came in a cup competition.

The defender nodded the equaliser in the 1-1 EFL Trophy draw against Stevenage and could strike again, with his team's expected territorial advantage likely to lead to plenty of attacking set-pieces.

Expect him to be in the thick of the action at both ends of the field, and he is hard to ignore for those eying the scorer markets.
