The 3-3-3 column has enjoyed a strong Christmas and early 2026 period and we are still waiting to see whether last week we scored a winner for the third week running. Jamie Pacheco explains all as he makes his three selections from European top flights for this weekend.

Let's see if Jamie can continue his good recent form as we take a look at his Weekend Accumulator Football Tips with the latest edition of his 3-3-3 column...

Last year, the 3-3-3 column returned a profit of 17 points, which means that if you'd backed every treble recommended over the course of the season for level £10 stakes, you'd be up by £170. That's one of the better returns you'll see in the tipping business and speaking of returns, Jamie Pacheco is returning again this year to do try to do it all over again, and maybe even improve on it.

Welcome to the 3-3-3 betting column. Why is it called that? Glad you asked. It's not a formation to play when you've had a man sent off but rather:

3 - The number of different selections making up the acca.

3 - The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.

3 - The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.

And it really is as simple as that. The selections can be from any betting markets, as long as they meet the criteria set out above. And to round things off, every week I'll leave you with a cool (or at least I think so) bit of trivia involving one of the teams featured in the acca. Simples...

2025-26 season Current P and L: +10.3 pts

2024-25 season's P and L: + 16.9

The Roma v Sassuolo match stayed' unders' so that was a good starting point, with Valencia v Elche also producing a BTTS outcome, courtesy of a 1-1 draw, also a winner for the column.

As regards the third selection, let's be honest here: I really didn't realise that the Benfica game was this weekend (the one coming up) rather than the last one, so though the first two selections won, at odds of 4/5 and 5/6 no less, we'll have to wait for Benfica's match to see if it comes good.

If it does come good, and at odds of 2/9 it really should, that would be three wins in a row. For those who like to hedge their bets, literally, you can take the  10/3 that this match stays under 1.5 goals.

But that's not for us: we're all in and assuming we get those two goals here, we'll be looking at a good payout for a third week in a row.

Let's see if that happens and, in the meantime, let's focus on what really matters: finding another winner here this weekend with a fresh treble.

  • Udinese v Inter
  • Saturday 17th January 14:00
  • Back Inter to win @ 2/5

Inter are by far the best team in the division, and it would be a considerable surprise if they don't end up winning Serie A come May, though both Milan and Napoli aren't going away anytime soon.

Inter have won 15 out of their 20 matches so far this season and have been in particularly good form of late, winning four of their last five and only dropping points in a 2-2 draw at Napoli (no disgrace there), which curiously, was their only draw of the season to date.

Udinese are always hard to beat, but they're down in 10th and haven't been great these last few matches, winning just once, though that was against Napoli.

Inter beat them 3-2 and 2-1 in their last two visits here so that's a good omen.

  • Olympique Lyonnais v Stade Brestois 29
  • Sunday 18th January 19:45
  • Back over 2.5 goals @ 4/5

Lyon have good numbers for over 2.5 goals matches at home with a 62% strike rate which includes four of the last five having three goals or more, though we do note that it was 1-0 last time out against Le Havre.

But we can excuse that and this Brest side have the same 62% strike rate away from home that Lyon do, which is a good starting point, including all of their last three.

And this is a fixture that tends to have goals in it with the last two ending 2-1 and 4-3, so this is a relatively confident selection.

  • Guimaraes v Porto
  • Sunday 18th January 20:30
  • Back Porto to win and over 1.5 Goals @ 4/5

Like Inter, Porto have been the standout side this season as their position at the top of the table shows, seven points clear of a good Sporting Lisbon side.

Remarkably, they've won 16 of their 17 matches so far, so they really have been bossing things this season.

Guimaraes are in seventh place on 29 points but should find this hard work against this lot, who beat them in each of their last six visits here, an outstanding record.

Four of those six were with two or more goals in them so that's what we're going with here.

Jamie's Fun Fact

Porto's young striker Samu is having an excellent season with 18 goals in 24 matches for club and country, including nine in his last eight appearances. No wonder plenty of Premier League teams are making inquiries about him.

o go with the winning goal at Famalicao a couple of weeks ago.
