Our regular Saturday BTTS Tipster is still away enjoying some time off between Christmas and New Year, so a colleague has stepped in and decided to do a non-league special, with five selections from outside of the professional ranks.

This five-fold pays out just shy of 13/1 and includes matches from grounds such as Aggborough Stadium, the Optima Stadium and Westleigh Park. If you know of these places, then you are most certainly a big fan of non-league football. Let's check out the reasons behind the selections for our Saturday BTTS Tips column...

Leg 1 - Radcliffe Football Club vs Oxford City - BTTS - Yes @ 4/6

Back in the day, when I regularly did this column, I had a couple of go-to teams. One was Swindon Supermarine and the other was Radcliffe. It is the Boro who get the nod once more as they continue to have games full of goals.

In 23 matches so far this season, 81 goals have been scored, which is north of three-per-game and they both score and concede more than 1.5 every 90 minutes. Oxford aren’t quite at those levels but only a notch below. Should be plenty of action at Stainton Park on Saturday afternoon.

Leg 2 - Kidderminster Harriers vs Curzon Ashton - BTTS - Yes @ 4/5

The National League North Division is crazy for BTTS. Only Spennymoor Town and Alfreton Town are below 50% and no fewer than ten teams are at 67% or above.

The stat that got me to plump for this match though was the fact Curzon Ashton have scored in every single match on their travels in the league so far this season. That is phenomenal this late in the season. Then when you see that the home side have exactly the same record in front of their own fans. All the statistics scream BTTS. Cue a boring 0-0 but the numbers say otherwise.

Leg 3 - Dover Athletic vs Torquay United - BTTS - Yes @ 4/6

Heading south, we go with the top team for BTTS in the division in Dover Athletic. At 71%, they are clear of three teams and one of those is - yes, you guessed it - Torquay United. The Gulls were actually top of this not so long ago but a run of only three wins for this bet in seven has seen them drift. The season-long numbers though do still suggest this is a strong leg to play.

Leg 4 - Weston-super-Mare vs Farnborough - BTTS - Yes @ 8/11

This leg is a bit of a punt and isn’t strictly backed up by the statistics. What we have to remember though is Weston-super-Mare are in the FA Cup third round next weekend and you have to think some of the players will have one eye on that match and ensuring they don’t get hurt.

The hosts have been in indifferent form in recent weeks and now trail league-leaders Worthing by three points. Farnborough have conceded 47 times in just 25 matches, so the home side should score and with a record of having scored in six of their past eight, let’s roll the dice with the visitors scoring as well.

Havant & Waterlooville vs Sholing F.C. - BTTS - Yes @ 8/13

Heading to my old stomping ground for the final leg in this non-league special, it has been a tumultuous season for fans of the Hawks. A new manager is now in the dugout and performances have seen an uptick. Back-to-back 4-0 wins - including at arch-rival Gosport Borough on Boxing Day - have given renewed hope that relegation can be staved off.

These two met in the Hampshire Senior Cup in November and we witnessed a five-goal thriller, with Sholing running out 3-2 victors thanks to a Jake McCarthy hat-trick. The reverse league fixture was also high-scoring, with the points being shared in a 3-3 early season matchup. You can see why I've gone for this final selection.
