Coventry (A) to beat West Brom @ 11/10

Coventry are the focus of the early kick-off and Saturday, and I’m not going to shy away from backing them to win. Frank Lampard’s men had been in poor form over the winter period, but they blew those cobwebs away with an outstanding 3-1 win over title rivals Middlesbrough.

West Brom haven’t improved at all under Eric Ramsay and back-to-back 0-0 draws in the league were followed by a defeat at Norwich in the cup. Yet to win a game under their new boss, they could find life tough against Coventry - although the Sky Blues’ poor away form leaves cause for concern.

Brentford (H) to beat Brighton @ 21/10

Brentford are cruising along nicely in seventh in the league, and the 1-1 they earned with Arsenal last time out was a good point. They’ve had 10 days off since that fixture, notwithstanding an FA Cup tie with Macclesfield on Monday, where they made changes, so should return refreshed, while Brighton have lost four and drawn one of their last five games.

All in all, this should go with the form book and I’m more than happy to back the hosts to record another win under Keith Andrews.

Southampton (H) to beat Charlton @ 4/7

Back in the Championship and Tonda Eckert looks to have re-found his magic touch as Southampton push for the play-offs. Saints have won five out of their last six in all competitions, including beaten Leicester twice in their last two outings.

Charlton lost 3-1 to relegation-threatened Portsmouth in midweek and they face a tough test here. I think they may come away pointless from St Mary’s on this occasion.

Middlesbrough (H) to beat Oxford @ 4/11

Will we see a big response from Middlesbrough after their six-game winning streak came to an end in the Midlands? I think so. Kim Hellberg’s team have two relatively kind home games coming their way on paper in the form of Oxford and Leicester, two sides that sit in the bottom three with Sheffield Wednesday at the time of writing.

Boro have an awful lot of quality, and their home fans should drive them over the line in this one.

Bolton (H) to beat Blackpool @ 8/15

In League 1, Bolton’s push for promotion sees them host 17th-place Blackpool. Wanderers are unbeaten in their last seven games, although they will have been left frustrated by the back-to-back draws that have left them eight points behind Lincoln City in second.

Wins are all-important then for Steven Schumacher, and given Blackpool have only won one of their last five the home side should get the job done.
