Como (H) to beat Hellas Verona (17:30) @ 8/13

Como are going places over in Italy. Led by manager Cesc Fabregas, they are up to sixth in Serie A and they’ve only lost once all season in the league. Their next test comes on the shores of the beautiful lake, as Como host Hellas Verona.

Verona have had a really tough start to the season, failing to win any of their eight league games, and they’ve only managed to score four league goals. Como will fancy their chances of securing another win against the misfiring visitors.

Lens (A) to beat Metz (18:00) @ 1/2

Lens are absolutely flying this season. Pierre Sage did a reasonable job at Lyon boasting a 57% win percentage, and he was chosen as Will Still’s successor over the summer. He’s been brilliant so far at Lens as they sit second in Ligue 1 having won six of their nine games so far, taking them just one point behind PSG.

PSG inflicted one of only two defeats so far but since then, Lens are unbeaten in five. They travel to Metz, who are the worst team in the league right now, having picked up just two points from nine matches. Winless, they were hammered 6-1 by Lille last time out and they have conceded 13 goals in their last three fixtures. This should be a comfortable away win.

Rangers (A) to beat Hibernian (19:45) @ 11/8

A big price for a risky pick? Well, it depends how much faith you have in new manager Danny Rohl to turn things around at Rangers. Myself, I’m fully on-board with the German manager having seen how good he was at Sheffield Wednesday.

Rangers fans saw a glimpse of positivity as they beat Kilmarnock 3-1 and while Hibs are in good form having won their last two, I just think the Gers can find a big result. Hibs failed to score against Hearts and Celtic recently, so I think Rangers could prove to be too strong at a big price.

Chelsea (A) to beat Wolves (19:45) @ 7/10

Wolves are rubbish. Two points in the Premier League on the board, fans turning against the players and the manager after the home defeat to Burnley and a team that doesn’t look like it can get out of danger.

It makes the home cup test against Chelsea a welcome relief perhaps, but their confidence is on the floor. I don’t trust Chelsea that much given they sit ninth in the league and lost at home to Sunderland in their last outing, but, they should be able to prove a point against the worst team in the top flight.

Tottenham Hotspur (A) to beat Newcastle United (20:00) @ 18/5

Just added this one in because I think the value is absolutely massive. Tottenham put in an exceptional performance as they hammered Everton 3-0 away from home at the weekend, and Newcastle needed a late winner to edge past Fulham.

Spurs are third in the Premier League, while Newcastle sit 11th having won three, drawn three and lost three. I know St James’ Park is a tough place to go and I think this will be a tight contest, but surely Spurs are overpriced to take the win? I certainly think so, and they boost our five-fold up to 50/1.
