Aston Villa vs Fulham - Under 2.5 goals @ 8/11

Villa have only scored one goal in the Premier League this season, with none of those coming at Villa Park. They did secure a 1-0 win over Bologna in the Europa League in midweek but from an attacking perspective they’ve been really poor so far.

Meanwhile, Fulham had an entertaining 3-1 win over Brentford in their last league outing, but the rest of their games, including a 1-0 win over Cambridge United, have all ended with fewer than 2.5 goals. Should be a poor game for the neutral.

Football Odds

Arsenal (A) to beat Newcastle United (16:30) @ 6/5

Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal. Are they good? Yeah. Do they receive too much criticism? Probably also yes. The tough test at St James’ Park will prove their mettle, after they battled back to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City last Sunday.

A comfortable win over Port Vale didn’t teach us much, but Arsenal are clearly going to be right up there in the Premier League this season. I personally thought they played well for most of that Man City draw, and their only defeat came at Anfield courtesy of that Dominik Szobaslai free-kick.

Newcastle United may have a brand new striker or two, but goals have been difficult to come by in the league, with just three in five matches. I’m happy to back the away side to secure a vital win on the road here.

Livingston (H) to beat Rangers (15:00) @ 18/5

Russell Martin. It’s not going well is it. Rangers are yet to win in the league so far this season with four draws and one defeat to their name, leaving them second-bottom of the SPL at the time of writing. On Thursday, they had the chance to put things right at home to Genk, but they lost 1-0 to the anger of the Ibrox crowd.

Genk sit 14th out of 16 in the Belgian Pro League this season - to give you some context as to how poor that particular result is. So what will it take for the Rangers board to act swiftly? One more defeat should do it I reckon. Livingston have one win, two draws and three defeats to their name so are the underdogs - but they have already faced Celtic, Hearts and Hibs - three of the current top four. Let’s boost our odds with this pick at great value.

Barcelona (H) to beat Real Sociedad (17:30) @ 2/7

From underdog to hot favourite. Barcelona at home is a relatively safe pick you would think, and they’ve started their title defence with five wins and a draw in La Liga. Real Madrid have gone six for six in what looks to be another close-run thing already, but Barcelona also impressively beat Newcastle United away in the Champions League.

On Thursday night they beat newly-promoted Real Oviedo 3-1 away from home, as they dominated with 80% possession, and I’m expecting a similar pattern at home to Sociedad. The away side have started slow, picking up five points from six matches, and I expect them to leave Catalonia empty-handed.

Napoli (A) to beat AC Milan (19:45) @ 21/10

A sizzling Sunday rounds off with this clash of the giants over in Italy. I’m a massive fan of the work Antonio Conte has done at Napoli, leading them to the title last season by just a point in his first season in charge.

He became the first manager to win the title with three different clubs and I think he might just defend that crown this term. Napoli’s squad has now got Kevin De Bruyne and Rasmus Hojlund in it, while Scott McTominay continues to shine in midfield. A trip to San Siro is always tricky, but Napoli have won four from four in the league and I expect them to find another win against a Milan outfit that have won three so far, but last term underperformed in these big games.
